Nope. Never crossed my mind that these two would be connected somehow.

What makes you think that?
the name Gwynevere and the fact that there are dragons. There seems to be at least some inspired themes. She is a queen in both the book and the game, even if not the same. Also King Arthur fantasy is usually darkish like this game.

Dragons are extremely common in fantasy RPGs...
But yeah, Guinevere is pretty similiar to Gwynevere.
Well of course Dragons usually take form in most RPGS lol. A lot of games are alike, but I wouldn't ask the original question just for any fantasy rpg. Another thought was because the design kind of reminded me of the King Arthur RPG Strategy game.
And not all fantasy games have a dark storyline. A lot of King Arthur myth is really dark. And I mean, for the light side as well. Usually a lot of fantasy games have sharp differences between light and dark.

Ah and almost forgot there is a screenshot of a castle city that looks a lot like Camelot, with a golden sunset.

How can anything look like Camelot, when Camelot doesn't really exist?

Most of castles looks like each others, because all of them built with one goal- to protect owner. And we must remember that game was designed by japanise , who said that they using things from different cultures, so what we have in the end - a fantasy game which contains parts of classical european fables with japanise view on it. MAYBE the also used story of king Arthur, maybe also something like 'la chanson de Roland' (sory for my eng i'm foreigner)
