Is Ornstien and Smough really considered the hardest boss?

It only took me 6 tries, no tutorials or anything to defeat that boss. Not sure if it's because of my level (63) or if I just got lucky, but it honestly was one of the easier bosses. I had a much harder time on the two gargoyles near the beginning of the game than I had on them. Does anyone else thing they are overrated?

Yeah I found Stray Demon to be way harder than Seath. Just put on the cursebite ring and chuck a couple of great fireballs at him :P

They are completly IMPOSSIBLE for my pyro/mage. Ive tried for 7 hours straight to beat them over the course of 3 evenings

Don't even get me started on that pompus knght and that fat bastard. It took me 4 days to figure out how to kill them offline. It seems easier to kill smough last but to fet the leo ring will only drop if you kill Ornesten last. By the way I was useing a pyromage and just spamed caos fireball and and a upgraded drake sword so yheah its possible.

Hats off to the devs of Dark Souls who created the best monsters and bosses in an RPG ever, makes Skyrim look positively boring in comparison

Bah, maybe i was overlevelled, but in retrospect i find most bosses of dark souls to quite easy/ one trick ponies, once you know the mechanics.
Taurus is just a mario boss
gargoyles are only potentially dangerous if there is 2 of themm and they stick together covering each other.
Capra is badly desgined one trick pony. Get the elite knight armor on, eat a green herb, 2 hand and pound on him, killing at least one dog if you can.
Butterfly is boring
Quelaag is easy unless you get gibbed by her explosion spell
Golem is easy aswell
Ornstein and smough are kin of random. Sometimes it looks like they are well synchronised and can stunlock you, other time you can almost stroll around the room no problem.

The camera being meh doesn't help fighting them. I kill smough first, then ornstein, he aint that hard in 2nd phase.

Sif isn't hard, but he's also the least lame bossfight, he lacks a few quicker attacks/guardbreaking ones to be though.

The rest is mostly easy aswell. At least if you have a decent shield (silver knight) and endurance.
Artorias and the manticore are good boss fight, though artorias homing jump is kinda lame when you don't know about it.

Manus is just lame with oolacile sorcery that can 1 hit kill you

I have only played through the game once, and my experience is based on my first playthrough of the game. I died a lot untill I got a understanding of the mechanics, meaning I died a lot on Gargoyl boss, lacking a lot of dmg out put to take the first one down quickly.
I think that they are the hardest boss, at least for me. I completed the game, and the DLC. They were the hardest bosses for me. Note that I was taking them on when I was level40 and I was using a tanky build, with slow attack speed (Ultra Greatsword). And of course soloing them, no NPC help nor Player help. They were the hardest bosses I've faced. Rest of the bosses I completed within my first or second attempt.
I think it's very depending on your build and playstyle which boss you find hardest, as well as how feminine you are, meaning you ability to multitask :P And by multitasking I mean being able to keep track of 2 bosses at the same time. and I fail horrible... ;) - But it's okay, we all got our differences. But I think it depends on your build and weapon you are using as well as what kind of roll speed you got.

Crossbreed Priscilla- Terribly easy, UNLESS you are going for tail weapon.

Seath the Scaleless- One of the easiest fights in the game, IMO, unless again, you are going for the tail.

Sif, The Great Grey Wolf
Ornstein & Smough
Knight Artorias
Stray Demon/Demon Sage
Four Kings - I don't get why this is hard for people. It's fairly tough in NG++, but not NG.
Sanctuary Guardian
Centipede Demon
Ceaseless Discharge- Overall not bad but can be a soul crushing experience if you don't spot the double attack coming every time.

Hard Bosses:
Bed of Chaos
Gwyn, Lord of Cinder
Black Dragon Kalameet
Manus, Father of the Abyss

Ceaseless Discharge, is in my opinion the worst boss fight in the whole game. Litteraly all you do is hide behined a rock, roll to lure, doge back to avoid the tenticle, slash away, roll back and repeat til death. Its not fun, not rewarding, repatisous and for crying out loud what kind of name is ceasless discharge, it sounds like a std from the witcher universe. While Pircilla is the best as it actualy requires some skill to relise were she is and get the dagger.

But why would you not go for the tail? The weapons you get are pretty decent, and plus it goes towards the achievement. Your hard bosses list are 50/50 faceroll. Bed of Chaos is so easy I only used one hand to beat him(her). Gwyn is a horrible last boss, even if you cant parry you can still just slap on Iron Flesh and beat him into submission. Gwyndolin is faceroll just hide behind the pillars and then hit him. If you have a strong enough weapon you can kill him in one hit. Overall I agree with your list Ornstein and Smough should be moved up though, even the people who do speed runs have to repeat this boss at least once. I agree with you about Four Kings though, people just be spazzing out cause they in the dark and shiz.

Going after tails can bring some fun and difficulty. E.g. Kalameet is pretty simple if the aim is just to kill, but getting his tail can liven things.

You only need to do tails once though.
Gwynn is hard for me without a phantom for some reason.

You don't need to do any of that. Search Youtube for "Ceaseless Discharge Easy Guide"

I see your points. At the end of the day the difficulty of the boss depends on the players skill, and ability to not poop his pants at some of this stuff lol!
