Best Crossbow + question

I want to know what everybody thinks is the best crossbow is between speed, damage, and reload time. Also the best bolt to use with it. Lightning and sniper are WAY expensive. I really want to incorperate a crossbow into my build.

Also, does Artorias have a resistance against lightning? My weapon seemed to do less damage with lightning than with-out. Or was that simply weapon scaling?

Probably the best crossbow is the avelyn the reload time is quick and you get a lot of bang for your shooting buck as it were, the only drawback is since you fire 3 bolts at once there is slightly more time where you are standing still while firing than other crossbows but the lightning fast reload of it makes up for that a little bit.

Avelyn all the way; best crossbow by far. get a Lightning/Chaos one with lightning bolts; theyre amazing

The heavy crossbow with heavy bolts is actually quite good. You can get some pretty nasty counter damage if you use it with the Leo ring.

I use a light crossbow with heavy bolts in my offhand. I read about it somewhere a few weeks ago and haven't stopped using it since.

One of the best options, though its seen as cheap in PvP, is lightning avelyn +5 with lightning bolts. It shoots 3 lightning bolts at a time and is EXTREMELY expencive. That being said, it can break most sheild blocks if all 3 connect and does a ton of damage to anything it hits.

honestly though just use what you want. The avelyn is kinda hard to get and if you get good with anything it becomes viable to use.
