How to summon Sif for Manus Boss fight?

I heard that you can summon Sif during the boss fight after rescuing him in the Abyss.

My question is, do I have to be in human form to find his summon sign? Do I need to equip the cleansing Shield?

Yes, you need to be human. No, you don't need the cleansing shield. Just save him and his sign will show up in the area you fight Manus.

Soon as you enter the fight turn the camera to the left. Its an instant summon unlike the others.

Old topic, I know. If you kill him at Darkroot it will be possible to do it? I just finished the tomb of giants and was thinking of heading to the PtDE quest line

- I believe that is better to use a old topic then making a new one :P

It's possible to summon him even if you already killed him. But he is useless anyway.
