Longbow upgrade

Gents, hello. :)
Quick one, I'm on my first playthrough and I'm trying to upgrade my longbow at the giant in Anor Londo. Its currently at Longbow+5 but it doesn't show up in my reinforce weapon list at all. Not even greyed out. It should be sitting between the shortbow and dragon knight bow right, alas, it aint there.. Tried at the bonfire as well with the kit, and also tried quitting/re-loading. Am I missing something?
I've upgraded past this before, I've got a lightning claymore +5 at the mo so I don't see why it won't show.
Any help mucho appreciated!

Go see Andre of Astora, the blacksmith of the undead chapel, he'll modify your weapon to a +6 (if you gave him the large ember). Then you'll be able to up until 10. If you want to go beyond, you'll need to come back to Andre to get it to +11 (he needs the very large ember for that). If you want to make it lightning, the giant blacksmith can make it from a +10 bow. The other blacksmiths do other things.

Aha I see, Andre to +6.. the giant can't do that I take it. ok thanks dude.

Each blacksmith specializes in a type of weapon enhancement and as such only they can improve your weapon to the next tier of upgrades. Andre can do normal raw and holy. Griggs can do magic and enchanted. Vamos is fire and chaos. And the giant smith can do crystal lightning and boss weapons.

That is if you gave them the corresponding embers.
