Dexterity with pyromancy build!
So I am gonna replay Dark Souls, but Ive never been a pyromancer or used pyromancy, but I would like a build with a katana/light weapon and pyromancy. Could someone make one for me (including starter build, how to use pyromancy, tips and advice etc etc) ? Thank you!

Pyromancy is pretty neat that it has no requirements other than attunement slots for spells. Pyromancies are also not dependant on any stat (except for soft humanity for 'chaos' pyromancies), so they are a great support for virtually any build as long as you don't mind spending a few points on Attunement. As for class, I'd recommend something with a pretty good base dex. Thief and hunter are obvious choices. You could pick Pyromancer, but it's base stats are a little too skewed towards Strength for my liking. The bonus of having pyromancy at your disposal right from the bat is nice, but you find the pyromancer NPC pretty quickly anyway.

Where can I find that NPC? Thanks Zenarkenstin!

He's located in the Depths (you'll need the key dropped from the Capra Demon boss in Lower Undead Burg). Just after the Butcher and the pool of water with the two drmon dogs, take an immediate left and you'll come to a room filled with barrels. He'll be trapped in the corner in a barrel. Roll into it to break it, as attacking it sometimes hits him and could turn him hostile (I found that out the hard way once xD).

Alright! Thanks a lot! how many points should I add to endurance, attunement, strength, vitaltiy etc?
Zenarkenstin 10 DIC 2013 a las 7:44
That part really depends on how you want to play your character. If you want to use heavier armors, Endurance becomes more important so you aren't bogged down as much due to the weight and your shield will be more resilient since you won't be dodging as many attacks. Attunement only helps your number of spell slots, so just enough to be comfortable. Around 2-3 is good for a support-pyormancy role, 5+ for using it frequently. Strength really depends on your weapon and if it gets bonus damage based on Strength (the letters in the weapon stats page show how much of a bonus it gets from extra Strength, E being the worst, S being the best)

The Pyromancer class is actually pretty good to start with since you already have two attunement slots. That should do you fine for the beginning of the game. Wanderer is also a great starting class since it already has the Dex required for the Uchigatana as well as one Attunement point away from a second slot. Hunter is a solid choice too.

Also, shouldn't you stay away from Strength? Once you get however much you need for your katana, there really isn't a point in more if you're a Dex build.

Wanderer also has one of the best starting light armors (looks good to boot!)

Chaos pyromancies doesn't scale with the humanity.

Correct, they don't scale with humanity unlike Chaos weapons. Although the description says they do, they don't. Who knows why.

Well then, you learn something new every day I suppose

For a dex pyro -assuming you want to have 14 STR and don't plan to use any sorceries or miracles- the order of the starting classes is:

Best: Pyromancer = Warrior = Hunter = Bandit
1 SL disadvantage: Wanderer
2 SL disadvantage:Knight
4 SL disadvantage:Cleric, Deprived
5 SL disadvantage:Thief, Sorcerer

You could also consider starting gear and whatnot but those differences are rendered meaningless in the early game phase anyway.
