I choose to reverse hollow, get invaded and die, what happens then?
Am I hollow again or still human and able to carry on with my boss fight?
What if the invader chooses to kill my boss while Im human, do I lose the boss for good or will it be back when i start a new game?
Thanks.
the Invader is not aggroed or harmed by anything in your world aside from fall damage and you or your summons as npc summons will aggro to them. and they may not harm your boss, they are there to keep you from the boss. if you die while invaded they get credit for it even if they never found you.
being killed by an invader counts as dying to npcs. your blood stain will be where you died.
Heh, I've only ever gone human to Kindle a bonfire, and I usually die shortly afterwards - never had to suffer an invasion. I guess it would be interesting once or twice, but being slaughtered has a chance of becoming an annoyance.
So if I perform an NPC summon, he gets killed by the boss (probably alongside me), what happens?
I've soloed the entire game so far (just rang 2nd bell).
Are these summons only for official area bosses, or for optional bosses such as the Hydra in Darkroot Basin?
only Certain boss fights have an npc backup, and one has a required summon to be availible later. (Witch Beatrice) You may also be invaded by certain npc phantoms throughout the game which can give you those sets they use. NPC Phantoms have a set region they spawn in in an area.
if you die, your summons are forced to leave. NPCs auto reset their signs in the same place each time, where as players are sent back to where they originally set theirs from their world. if your phantoms die there is no direct consequence to you, but every phantom you summon someone mentioned DOES boost boss hp based on the number of them with you to make up for the bosses possibly split aggro. make sure you know you can survive a fight before summoning them. late bosses especially.
you are also required to appeal to a level range 10 below you plus 10% is the lowest or highest range you have. so a SL 55 at best can be summoned by a level 42, or a level 68 (correct my math anyone if I'm off) so make sure you memorize the appropriate summon ranges for players. an npc doesn't seem to follow this rule.
Wait, isn't the whole point of summoning help is to, well, help me survive the fight? If I could easily do it on my own, why should I summon anyone?
Every boss I've fought so far has killed me at least once, and some have killed me many times (though not as many as those damn Black Knights...)
If you summon 2 players with melee builds, they can take the brunt of enemy attacks for you, while you sneak around and only attack when it is safe to do so. Assuming everyone is pulling their weight, multiple players speed boss fights up
I say 'survive' as a loose term. what I'm trying to say is WITH phantoms helping, there is a chance you'll want to recognize the distances which you can safetly avoid being hit by something they block and vice versa. blocking does not create a 'saftey hitbox' if the person directly behind you is not guarding, they WILL be hit by it. same goes for you. meaning during a coop fight, the important idea is to keep in mind the idea is to get through it together, not unintentionally get in your phantoms way or draw it to them at an inoppertune time.
basicly, be a aware buddy. Say you summon me for say....Queelag. She has attacks that can end up hitting BOTH of us if we aren't careful. Memorize what the sweeping ranges are so you don't hazardly wander into it while a phantom is distracting something....because as we all know, Dark Souls likes to punish for being a touch over zealous in combat.
As I said before, nothing bad happens for letting phantoms die first. just one less set of hands helping until the next rematch summon. but you don't exactly want to end their lives early either....or yours
