parrying isnt a great choice in pvp always because there is connection issues and lag usually, so dont rely on it
heavy stuff like the zwei take longer to prime and swing, so just jump of the way and then counter with a fast attack
While that is a generally good guideline, there are a few exceptions. As far as I know, you are unable to parry the Whip class weapons, and any weapons held in the Off-Hand.
Forgot about whips. You're right. Not sure about the off hand weapons though.
I've worked a good bit with off-hand weapons. A good rule for what weapons are parryable is what weapons can backstab. Whips, Bows, Crossbows, and Off-Hand weapons aren't able to be parry'd nor are they able to backstab/riposte.
You kill them before they kill you. There are no hard counters in Dark Souls.
Can't beat the unstoppable.
