You need to stay away from Gaping Dragon and wait for it to slam down. It will do another roar and charge towards your direction but will horribly miss, when it pauses after that you start attacking. Just keep your distance while he does that, and he'll be very easy to solo.

the boss has giant tells, it is next to impossible to not see what he is going to do, if he opens his mouth, hes gonna slam down in your direction, if the tail becomes active, hes gonna swing it, i fhe bends down hes gonna jump and if he wiggles hes going to vomit

And if you are still human, you can summon Knight Solaire and possibly Lautrec if you've talked to him after freeing him from the cell in Parish.

Gaping is really a skill check, which you should try your best to clear without help imo. As said, his tells are rather obvious. Your ability to learn a moveset, and how to work around that moveset, will be what determines your success in dark souls pve.

Consider the dragon has 2 stances, one when he is lying flat, and another when he is pulled up and you see all the teeth, when he is lying flat he can move fast in relatively straight paths it cant turn very well. When pulled up he can turn fast but can be easily run from. When he slams his head down you have a good few seconds to hit his little head which deals extra damage. Spend some time observing him carefully so you can read all is moves, watch for the one where he looks like he is about to puke cause he throws up this acid that damages your gear. Cutting off its tail will also help but its dangerous to stand behind him when he is pulled up cause he will tail whip you a lot.

Make sure you at least have a +5 weapon, you can get it to 10 by farming the slimes for large titanite, you should have the large ember. Also any gold pine resin's you have can boost your damage significantly, there are 3 you might have picked up in the burg and domhall of zena sells 3 as well.

Him being flat isn't really a stance, it's just the result of his body slam attack. When you say he moves fast, it's because he follows it up with a charge. That is the only move he will use out of a body slam, but he doesn't always use it. Once on his belly, he will only ever charge forward or stand back up.

WRONG forblaze, he will do his vomit attack after slamming down. Go back to abusing your mod privaledges on the payday2 forums.

he does not do his vomit after slamming down, he only does it after the wiggle

This is just the first video I found of the gaping dragon fight that shows his vomit attack.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1KWHqJjTtuo

Vomit starts at around 2:05. I assume you're misinterpreting 2:10 as his body slam attack, when it's just part of his vomit animation. Yes, he temporarily enters his "crawl" position, but he will never follow up a vomit with a charge and will immediately stand back up.
