Fastest way to get dragon scales?

I really have trouble getting those scales for the dragon covenant, wahts the fastest way to get them?

Farm the drakes in valley of the drakes using the serpent ring.

Couldn't you just find a partner and abuse the dragon eye for scales?

Fastest way would be getting the ones you can collect in Ash Lake (there's like 4 or 5 there, then kill the Hydra in Darkroot ans Ash Lake (Ash Lake gives 2) and then kill the weird Wyvern thing on your way to Valley of the Drakes for 1 more. The rest you'll either have to farm from Drakes (which could take a while) or try your luck with the Dragon Covenent invading. Valley of the Drakes will probably be faster though. With a +15 Zwei and decent stats you should be able to 2hit them using the strong attack. Vegeta311 has a video up about it. Theres like a 2 minute farming route you can take. With some luck it shouldn't take you longer than a few hours.
With no luck, you're going to end up killing them for a few days before you get enough. This happened to me. I spent a good 6 hours killing them on and off.

Actually... it was just a certain part of one of his videos. I'll try and find it.
First 2 or 3 minutes shows his run. Problem with this is that you need a really high Damage weapon. When i did this myself i think i used either the Zwei or the Demon Greathammer fully upgraded. I don't remember if i used Power Within or not though.

The fastest way without a donation or crazy luck is probly to get someone who is willing to let you kill them over and over by way of the Dragon Eye summoning. With DSfix and DSCfix and the person on your GFWL friend list, you can get summoned by them quite easily.

After that, hope the RNG is kind while you farm Drakes.

IIRC, the game has 10 scales available without fighting Drakes.
