Enchanted Shotel is just nooooooot fair.
Guy does 400ish a hit with it, goes around shield, super quick to attack with, and I have good armor, ect...frustrating.

What point is there in using any other weapon in melee, really? Ignores shields, fast, good combo, high damage, leaves no openings...

if you can't roll, i think there's armor that protects against other kinds of damage besides physical, like magic or elemental.
I've seen dudes getting a Crystal Soul Arrow from me, to the face, and not displaying 1 dmg.

That was probably a hacker. Or was he glowing white?

How does rolling help, exactly? You still take damage while rolling.

I hear of these I-Frames, but I've never seen them, everytime I roll, I get hit regardless.

Likely due to lag. It's easier to practice first on normal enemies. At the very very start of your roll (best with quick rolls) there are some I-frames and dead zones for attacks. Once you get used to doing it on normal enemies it's easier to pull off againts phantoms, even with the lag.

one realy good thing to train for example is rolling thru WOTG. just aggro the giants in anor londo and wait til they do it, then stand close and try to roll thru, really good practie against one of the most overused pvp-moves :D

Magic barrier, Stone shield or in general greatshields has good magic resist. Crest shield for medium shields is also another good alternative.

Try to parry or atleast roll. Most Shotel and Katana users spam their attacks, Shotel due to its ability to go through shields and katanas due to bleed effect.

Don't really know what your build is, but i generally parry/roll against these users, if it gets too sticky i always have WoTG to get me out of trouble. Have some sort of "oh sh!t" move that gets out of such situations. These guys are usually aggressive and a tactic a friend of mine uses is cast TWOP against such users, he always manages to pull an easy roll+bs after getting them in the aura.

Don't rely on armor too much. While it does help, many people in pvp rely on burst damage to take out their opponents therefore it doesn't really matter as even the heaviest armor goes down in a few succesful hits, most people only wear armor for poise breakpoints, aesthetic reasons such as cosplay. Rarely for defence.

Use it for PvP and you will soon realize why is not even used that much on the real PvP escene.

Also don't rely on your shield, the moment you see a Shotel being enchanted just stay away from it, it has a rather low range, use your rolls to avoid damage and get some distance.
