Dark Souls: I didn't get havels ring and need a way to get it.
Yeah as the title said, basically I was doing the jumping of the stairs to damage him, and he killed me while I was in mid air, still fell of the stairs and killed himself, when I went back there was only the souls and no ring. There is nothing in the chest behind Frampt either. It's really getting annoying as I have been fat rolling throughout the game and it's becoming incredibly difficult to kill certain quicker bosses like Sif. I have tried everything, even tried to just cheat my way into getting it with the save editor but it doesn't work. I don't really want to start again because I am so far through my first playthrough I don't want to go through all that again. Any help appreciated.

I thought these unique items appear where the npc was standing if you reload the game. Have you tried going back to Havel's spawn?

I don't think there's any other way to get it besides starting over :/ or cheating really hard...
And you don't need to do that strategy, he's quite easy, just around him, his heavy attack won't hit you, you don't even need to roll to dodge that attack... and just be patient and try stabbing him in the back...
Also you should worry less about heavy armor and learn how to dodge by rolling, you can use the ring slot for something better than the havel's... just find an armor set that looks good for you and get a high stability shield xD

Havel's ring still helps if you want fast rolls with heavier armor. What weapons are you using? You can still wear a reasonable amount of armor without havel's ring, unless you're using a heavy weapon. Use a wolf ring for the poise, if you can't afford the weight.

@Bloodyfish Yeah I thought so too but it really seemed to vanish, think it was something to do with him dying as my game was reloading up, because I was long dead before he died.

@Yorutamashi Yeah that's what I was worried about... I know I should man up and start over, or just wear lighter armor but it's frustrating having to do something you didn't want to have to do simply because of a small glitch.

Try going back to havel's place, log out and log back in, it should appear right where you killed you him or atleast somewhere nearby.

Edit: I see you've done that and no luck.

@Bloodyfish Yeah I wanted faster rolls with my best lighter armor set, which at the current time I think is Orinsteins, and i'm using the uh... Gravelord Sword? I think it's called.

best heavier armor set ***

You can still do pretty well without heavy armor. I'm not sure if somebody can drop rings for you, but you can cheat or wait for ng+ for the ring. I doubt anybody would be particularly upset with you cheating in this case.
