How to get heater shield after killing the undead burg merchant?

I am building a new character with a low SL using uchigatana.
One thing that I forgot to take account into is the low equip load that comes with low SL.
It seems that heater shield would help me to lower my equip load while providing 100% physical block.
Now since I had to kill the merchant to get uchigatana, I can't get heater shield from him. Is there any way I can get the shield?

to be honest, i don´t think there is.......and yes, still best shield in the game due to low weight while still having 100% phys def.

No, unfortunately not, but you may wish to try the wooden shield, as I think it provides 93% block at a weight of 1.5 compared to the heater's 2. there's also a few shields with 100% which weigh 3 if you have a little room left.

most shield with 100% phys weigh 3.0, so that´s no use. i would go wooden shield and target shield or another small shield with high fire/lighting (50%+) resist. only problem with these lesser shields is low stability.
