NBGI Folder
This folder houses your save file. However, if you delete this folder and all its contents it simply recreates it and your save file. Where is it getting your save file from?

Well Windows Live backups your save ..and if it's gone, it resteres it. New Steam version might be doing the same.

It is the Steam Cloud, even if you are not in the beta.

Cool. Is there a way to change where it locally stores your save? I really hate having program data sitting in my Documents folder. That's not the place to house that kind of stuff.

contrary to your opinion, that's exactly where this should sit, because it's not program's data, but yours..

It's not a document. It should sit in AppData or Saved Games--which is supposed to be GFWL's folder for game saves. It's not like I can do anything with that file anyway.

AppData is the worst place for saves. Documents can easily be moved to another partition and is easily accessible.
