[Minor spoiler] Ceaseless Discharge

I've been stuck on the Ceaseless Discharge boss for about 1 hour now and I'm getting really frustrated. My strategy has been running all the way to the altar and then fight him there, but his double-arm attack is registering without even hitting me, which often results in an instant death. I've only managed to get him down to about 1/3 of his health before he kills me in some ridiculous way. This boss just seems so ♥♥♥♥ing wonky, I've not felt this way for the previous bosses in the game. I need tips and strategies on how to beat him.

There's an easy way of killing this guy. Run to him, get the armor (you prob already has it) and then run back to white fog, i dont know if it was intentional, but when he gets there, he will try a hand attack, then you hit his hand and he will die, even full HP

theres two ways i know of, anything else is really really tough, this boss along with bed of choas are absolute ♥♥♥♥♥ annoying designed bosses.

It is intentional. By the Lore, Ceaseless Discharge was a child when he became what it was, so he acts as a child :P

The tactic Old Punch is describing is the most common way to beat him, and it is a completely legit and intended tactic. You taunt him until he pulls out his second arm (the one stuck in his chest), and when that arm is available you run to the fog gate. When at the fog gate, wait for him, and eventually he will leap towards you and end up hanging from the cliff. Then all you have to do is attack his arm once, and he will lose his grip, fall off and die. (If he just stands there and spams his fire attack, then he hasn't pulled out his arm)

But if you still want to try the other tactic - the one you're attempting - it is all about rolling and slashing. Fast roll (low encumberance) helps immensely, and of course - the higher damage output you have, the faster you will kill him and that lowers your chance of messing up at some point. The only other tip I can give you is to figure out exactly when, and in which direction to roll, but that applies to all bosses.

I usually hide in the small passage and poke him whenever he throws his hand toward me, given patience and a little bit of luck he shouldnt be 'too' difficult that way

I ended up doing the ledge thingy, didn't realize it was intentional the way other people has explained it. It's obviously not a glitch, so I have no regrets. But one question though: does he drop any rings/armour/weapons? I didn't get any.

You just need to get use to the timing on his tentacle slams. Tilt the camera up if you need to and watch it come down and dodge. If you want to fight him this way it is also recommended to shoot him with a projectile, as he wont grow his second tentacle if you do so(picking up the armor makes him grow the other tentacle, giving him more attacks). It makes the fight easier. You should totally experience all three versions of the fight!

He doesnt drop anything special, so no worries.

The only things he should drop is one Humanity item and a Homeward Bone.
