Lightning Reinforced Club +5 and Chaos Hand Axe +5 for fighting
For medium armor, I would go with CommissionerOdo's recommendation of Black Iron Helm, Steel Armor, Black Iron Gauntlets, Steel Legs. You can find his SL1 playthrough in Youtube, he gives very good tips in there. For light armor you can wear whatever you want doesn't matter. I favor the good old Sack with Black Leather Pants.
For Spells, Great Combustion and Great Fireball is sufficient. I didn't really use Pyros late game myself.
For chaos weapons, humanity makes all the difference. Don't use chaos weapon unless you have at least 10 soft humanity, that's why you should keep a good Lightning weapon handy when you lose them hummies.
alternatively you can get enchanted weapon a bit later but still early
chaos weapons = 10 humanity is hard cap for their scaling, so no "at least"
regarding armor - havel ring, wolf ring, giant helm, dingy robe, default pyromancer's trousers, and pyromancer manchette too wil give you >53 poise, fastroll and still enough reserve for shield and weapon
your main problem is your weapon, at this point in game, you should be able to have better one (and more of them)
fap ring is a sweet candy, but..
PS for flippers: I've tanked O&S on SL1
Armor is not a big issue. I run 0 poise and toggle escapes for SL1 runs but it's best not being hit at all. NG+ and onward you will die in 1 it, maybe 2.
Rings is sort of a personal thing. FAP is good but really it's just insurance in case of being hit, minus the stamina/end which is still worth it somewhat. If you are really confident use red tearstone ring, otherwise wear what you think you need but it will generally be the usual suspects. Not many good rings outside of the popular ones.
Spells the best option is great combustion, however rolling and meleeing with a chaos (+10 humanity)handaxe/reinforced club is the best bet.
There's lots of tricks you can do with red tearstone/power within/sanctus for example. Damage is very high with this setup but also very risky.

It is my series of videos about doing a sl1 easily.
I hope it will help you.
P.s. Go to fire+10... always having 10 soft humanity in pve could be boring.
Of course, if you invest 1 point in Intelligence you can get a second RTS when you trade the egg dude's pyro flame to the bird nest, but I advice against it if you don't intend to use Int later on. Every point matters in DS1 when you can't respec.
In pve he'll die often so he'll probably stay always at 0 humanity that drops chaos reinforced club to only 418... So i would go for fire+10 first and later, near the end of the game, farm another red titanite slab from Chaos Eaters to have also a chaos weapon.
Just my 2 cents.
i mean - obviously the idea was you lose your humanity when you die; it's the consequence; you feel the pressure; but not so if you do what you suggest..
I just beat the 4 kings. It took a few tries, but I finally succeeded. I feel so accomplished
Yeah, I wasn't really focused on weapons, as I mostly relied on pyromancy... I have a lightning weapon now and I'm about to go to demon ruins to get the large fire ember
Thanks, I'll check it out.
Thanks, but I'm doing the SL1 run as a challenge, don't really want to use exploits to make it easier. I think I'll just go with the fire upgrade all the way.
