Crystal magic weapon with ivory catalyst (the best catalyst for 25 INT):
1.4(spell modifier)*180(mag adjust)= 252 magic damage when buffed.
Darkmoon blade with canvas talisman (the best talisman for 30 FTH):
0 souvenirs of reprisal offered: 1.8(spell modifier)*172(mag adjust)= 309.6 magic damage when buffed.
10 souvenirs of reprisal offered: 1.9(spell modifier)*172(mag adjust)= 326.8 magic damage when buffed.
30 souvenirs of reprisal offered: 2(spell modifier)*172(mag adjust)= 344 magic damage when buffed.
80 souvenirs of reprisal offered: 2.1(spell modifier)*172(mag adjust)= 361.2 magic damage when buffed.
Sunlight blade with canvas talisman (the best talisman for 30 FTH):
1.8(spell modifier)*172(mad adjust)= 309.6 lightning damage when buffed.
Overall, if you want the maximum amount of damage, you'll have to go with darkmoon blade.
If you want flexibility with what covenant you wanna be in (for example in case you want to invade in the forest), then choose sunlight blade.
If you want to be able to spend a few less stat points for a buff, go crystal magic weapon.
Oh, and by the way, I don't particularly like buffers, so be ready for a cheap tactics galore if we ever meet in PvP.
Thanks to both of you, by the way.
What, not buffing? Of course there is.
Such as?
What weapons/shields/gear do you want to use? I can make an example via a character planner.
Typical DEX weapons for buffs are: Uchi, Falchion, Great Scythe, Balder Side Sword, basically anything which is fast and scales with DEX. Of course you can also buff a Murakumo if you want to make the build for that.
As far as I know Crystal Magic and Darkmoon Blade do both magical damage, while SLB does lightning Damage.
To have an equal damage output with Crystal Weapon as you have with Darkmoon Blade you have to go for 32 INT to use Tin Crystallization Catalyst.
Careful: I haven't played this in a while, but you won't make any friends using buffs and spammin R1. Anyway GL
Edit: ninja'd... lol
Not sure who you ninja'd, but nobody mentioned the improved CMW with the crystallization catalyst. Good to note.
EDIT: Well, the specific catalyst wasn't mentioned, at least. So I didn't realise that it was the catalyst in question.
Dunno, grass crest shield, for that i'm fund of dual wielding and don't care much about shield (should I?), scimitar/falchion/balder, anything fast and clean will be just fine.
And what is more, how are spears in terms of pvp performance? And pve?
I'd like to have a shot to them too!
A bit unusual with the dual-wielding, but I'll see what I can do.

So as you can see, this isn't a finished build. It is a template of the standard dexterity build, and here's why I've chosen the different pieces of equipment/stats:
1. 45 vitality, because 45 vitality is a good number. It's neither too high nor is it too small. You can probably vary it between 40 and 50.
2. 40 endurance because that's when the stamina caps off, and you will only gain equip-load when increasing the stat.
3. Havel's gauntlets and leggings, just to showcase that you can get above the 53 poise breakpoint without resorting to hollow undergarments.
4. Composite bow, because that's the best bow for close range PvP, and is standard gear for a large amount of builds.
5. FAP ring, because the extra HP and stamina is often very useful. Standard gear in a large majority of all PvP builds being effectively used.
6. Havel's ring because it makes reaching the fast roll much easier. You can unequip this, but as a result you'll have to reduce the amount of gear you can use by a huge amount.
Spears are quite good in pvp. Fast, good moveset, and long reach. AR of spears are decent and with attacks being pokes means you can get counter bonus. Spears imo, are quite cheap in PVP. PVE, I never tried spears.
Are spears more dex or str oriented? Which are the best ones in your opinion?
I want to really thank you for your dedication. I'm even thinking about not buffing, since it is considered so unpopular. I want friends :)
Thief is the best starting class for strength builds because they can get the demon great hammer AND the master key.
No problem, happy PvPing when you get that far!
