Artorias's soul is NOT used to make his shield. His soul is used to make the Abyss Greatsword
You use Sif's soul to make the shield. It's an amazing shield, has the highest Stability in the game, and isn't even as heavy as Havel's.
Also, don't give the soul to the NPC, just kill her. You'll get the 2 weapons AND her armor. There is no reason to give her the soul, other than to be nice.
Moonlight Butterfly Soul
Between the shield and the Spear, I'd make the shield with it. It has the highest Magic reduction in the game, tied with Havels.
I don't really like spears...so I can't give much opinion on that.
Iron Golem Soul
Niether weapon is particularily spectacular. There's better greataxes, but it does have a fun speacial ranged attack.
The dragonbone fist is a lot of fun though, and has an enteraining Strong Attack.
Soul of Sif
I've never made either of the Greatswords, so I have no input on their movesets. But they both require multiple stats to use, so unless you're making a very hybrid character, or are a high level and have spread your skills out more, I wouldn't see any reason to make either. It's better to stick with just a few different stats, than to spread them out much.
The shield Has the best stability in the game, and a reasonable Str and Weight requirement. I have a big hard on for High Stability shields though, so I might be Bias
Soul of Gwyndolin
Both of his weapons are Faith based, so if you aren't a Faith character you can pass over both
The Darkmoon Catalyst is only good for Faith/Int hybrid mages. it's a catalyst that stacks with Faith.
The Darkmoon Bow is a great bow if you're a faith build.
Soul of Manus
You can either make a catlyst with it, or trade the crow at the Asylum for Puruers. If you're on playthrough 1, I'd choose pursuers over the catalyst, playthrough 2 make the catalyst. If you aren't a mage user, crush it.
Soul of Gwyn
Unless you're a faith buil who really wants Sunlight Spear (even with a faith character, you only get 5 spears at the cost of 2 attumenet slots, so it's not worth it imo), use it to make his sword. It has high base damage for a low Str requirement. It doesn't stack well with any stats though, so lategame you probably won't find much use for it
Soul of Artorias, Smough, Ornstien and Prascilla can only be used to make one thing, so you might as well make them and try them out yourself, since you won't be missing out on an alternative.
Guardian Soul can't make anything, crush it.
As far as i know it is exactly the same as logans crystal catalyst. The same effect, the same dmg. Only looks differently, but the crystal one looks better in my opinion. I would rather get 20 times pursuer than the catalyst.
Manus' catalyst causes the dark spells to scale off of strength as well as int, meaning if you have more strength than int, you would want this catalyst.
