dark grain wood ring not doing anything?

I got the dark grain wood ring equipped, my rolling isn't changing.

I removed all my armors and rolled, it was the same.


What is wrong with this game?

Do you have so little equipload that your weapons are putting you into medium roll? Remember that light roll is only 1/4r your total equip load so if you not stamina heavy and dont have havels/favor rings even 1 heavy weapon can put you over.

Under 25% equip load, the DWGR will make you flip instead of roll. There's nothing wrong with the ring, you're doing something wrong.

You can remove all armor, but your weapons and shields also count as part of your weight. So you will have to remove or replace with lighter ones if you want to roll fast. Or, increase endurance, or wear Havels / F.a.P. ring along with the DWGR.

Is the total weight of your weapons+shields in both slots below 25% max burden?

After the 1st reponse I upeqipped the hand items also, my character was doing the changed roll after.

I was tired and didn't post that the ring works.

I thought at level 68 I would be strong enough to do the changed roll with the gear I had.


This game makes me angry a lot.

This only depends on how many of your level ups went into Endurance.

Yeah it just seems like I'll always need an extra 50+ levels to do areas that other players can easily do.

How is it that you have over 100 hours in this game yet you still don't grasp the most basic mechanics? Are you aware that you can see an explanation for all the stats on the stats screen?

Whenever I play this game all kinds of weird glitches & erros happen.

The info details button on the character stats page worked 1 time & now it doesn't work at all.


There are many other strange things in the game that don't seem right & are hard to explain.

It's hard to explain, this game is just terrible & weird to me.

The last patch dark souls got, a patch that rebalances ♥♥♥♥ i mean, 1.06, was quite a few years back, I'm not sure what could feel different now, unless you played it on consoles first, literally the day it came out
