Lore reason for stray demon?

Why is the Stray Demon inside the dungeons? What purpose would it serve when there is clearly a creature capable of guarding it already.

he could certainly protect the asylum all the way down there

Maybe he is a Stray Demon?
Do you even need a reason for that? He is just there to be there, its the tutorial area. There is no real lore behind him there. He is also optional you can just dodge the Stray Demon fight just fine. Just go around the center and never go into the center and you won't trigger the fight. You still can go just everywhere in the asylum.

Hold on here,

You want to fight him in the Asylum. He is a easy fight with a weapon that causes bleed. He also drops a titanite slab and there are only two ingame to loot. One is from him and the other is from the Dragon close to the township. Titanite slabs do drop off other things but the drop rate is low.

Why complain about that demon. He is easy once you figure him out and I always needed that titanite slab he drops...

Here's my theory.

Stray Demon and Asylum Demon were lovers.
One day Stray Demon got fired by his boss Demon Firesage.
Stray Demon was very depressed.
Not knowing how to face his loving one, Stray Demon went stray.

Asylum Demon got worried.
Not just about Stray Demon got fired or stray, but also about the rumor of the chosen undead.
Asylum Demon came to Undead Asylum to find Stray Demon.
And you know what happened to them...

I am complaining about his lore reason, I beat him with no armour on he is easy when you get behind the bugger.

Think i heard this theory somewhere:

Gwynn fought against the demons. Chances are he may have captured a few for w/e reasons, maybe seath wanted some.

Gwynn is also related to the guy who started the way of white. The Way of white are the ones who lock you up in the asylum.

Gwynn probably gave the demons to the way of white to serve as guards or tormentors for the asylum.

yes this is the closest another reason could be the fact that there are demons guarding the way to their mother the bed of chaos .so the domns are preventing undead from escape.and the taurus demon guards the parish=first bell.capra guards the depths whichis the path to the 2nd bell. and then the demon gang bangs all across izalith.

He's standing on masses of corpses, maybe that's where they throw the hollows who have started to degrade physically for him to dispose of them.
