Best Talisman

On wikidot I've seen the thing that says:

"For Faith below 27, the Thorolund Talisman offers the highest MagAdjust.

For Faith is between 27 and 39, Canvas Talisman offers the highest MagAdjust.
For Faith above 39, the Darkmoon Talisman offers the highest MagAdjust.
For Faith above 42 and you wish not to join the Blade of the Darkmoon covenant (even temporarily) , the Ivory Talisman and Sunlight Talisman both equally offer the highest MagAdjust.
If your character has high (31+) Intelligence, Velka's Talisman is superior if Faith is at least 5 points lower."

I'm going to be using 30 faith on my character for sunlight blade and stuff so according to that explanation the canvas talisman would be the strongest for me. 27-39 when I have 30.

But I don't get it. On the stats it says they have both A faith scaling but Darkmoon Talisman has 240 Magic / Miracle Compensation and Canvas Talisman has 154.

What is Magic / Miracle Compensation? I tried googling it but no answers. I thought it meant the talisman's strength. So wouldn't 240 on Darkmoon Talisman be better?

The magic adjust doesn't really explain what the real power is. I think you can only get that from the attack value in the Stats screen. I am guessing the Canvas Talisman has a lot more scaling at that lower level.

Edit: Mugenmonkey says that the Darkmoon talisman only has 156 MagAdjust on a 30 faith character. So I am guessing the amount decreases unless you reach a certain level of faith or something.

Darkmoon talisman below 39 faith has good enough scaling but a low enough base MagAdjust that it would not have a high enough total MagAdjust to be better than Canvas or Ivory.
