Halberd vs. Lucerne

Want to start upgrading some weapons and noticed that the halberd and lucerne have about the same stats, what weapon does anyone recomend?

Halberd most likely is better both in pve and pvp but I really do like lucernes 2h r2 attack, it does very good damage. Otherwise I think Halberds moveset is better.

Lucerne's attacks are all counted as thrusting therefore works with leo ring making it better but halbers is easier to handle.

u will rarely find an opportunity to use leo ring + lucerne because there's only a tiny window for counter attacks. plus, the lucerne is, at least imo, really clunky to use. this makes it even harder to score a counter hit within the window of a few frames. not to mention the fact that it is more cumbersome than a halberd with normal attacks anyway

The normal halberd, black knight halberd, great scythe, and gargoyle halberd are all better than lucerne.
