reinforce catalyst!

Hi! is there a way to reinforce catalysts? on the web it says that it i spossible but not how, so i get confused. so if there i s way how do i do it

You cannot in Dark Souls, only in Dark Souls II. In Dark Souls your INT stat (and type of catalyst) is the only thing that determines spell power. There are also Bellowing Dragoncrest Ring and Dusk Crown/Crown of the Dark Sun which are essential for a mage to boost their attack power.

okay thx a lot guys! just found the dusk crown among with rest of the gear for it. does all the gear improve my spell dmg?

What determines spell power is your INT and the stat called Magic Adjustement which can be found in the catalyst, the higher that stat, the more powerful your spells become.

Only in Dark Souls 2 you can infuse and upgrade staffs/staves/whatever, you don't have catalysts in DaS 2.

The Sorcerer Catalyst + Bellowing Dragoncrest Ring + Crown of Dusk + 35 or 40 INT + Power Within (a piromancy spell) can destroy a lot of bosses till you get the Tin Crystallization Catalyst, the best catalyst in the game.

You get +20% spell and pyro and miracle damage, but you will receive more damage from magic too.

You do not have to wear Dusk's dress or set, the Crown is the only thing that boosts spell damage.

Crown of the Dark Sun (which you can buy from the armor merchant after killing Gwyndolyn) boosts it less, but also doesn't leave you vulnerable to magic attacks.

Dark sorceries are also afected by which catalyst you use and your str/dex, but that will require even more SL than to raise int alone, and most enemies have higher physical resistance so that extra damage won't be much higher in comparison with pure magic damage. If you are interested on that, manus is better for str and demon catalyst for a mix of str/dex.
