How can I check my FPS in DS?
Hello,
I'm relatively new to PC gaming and curious as to how (if possible) I view my frame rate on this game. Also, my laptop has an integraded graphics card (Intel) and a low to mid non integraded (AMD) graphics card. Is there any way to make sure that DS is using my AMD card? I suppose i could mess around with the AMD GUI but any other advice would be greatly apprieciated!

Thanks!

Steam -> Settings -> In-Game -> In-Game FPS counter

Other 3rd party software (e.g. Fraps) work too.

Huh, I didn't know Steam had that feature.

Btw OP if that doesn't work for you or for whatever reason you want to try something else, another option can be RivaTuner Statistics Server. The one I use came packaged with MSI Afterburner but you should be able to find it on it's own without too much trouble. (Both tools are free to use).

BTW cant say if the counter is correct. In dks it shows me 15 fps while running at steady 30.

Sorry which counter did you mean? Also how are you verifying that it is running at 30 and not 15?

I mean the Steam overlay counter.

The common knowledge is that unless you unlock fps the game runs with either 30 or 15. If DkS cant handle 15 - it drops to main menu and goes offline, so I havent much to choose from. And I can recognize difference between sloppy 15 and rather steady 30 fps.

Yep. I never unlock it. The game feels to buggy for me w/ fps unlocked. Yeah, I know the workarounds but I don't want to fiddle with them..

that's it, the game runs at either 30 or 15 fps with frame locked, steam counter must be having an hard time with that engine-peculiarity i guess

I unlocked the framerate in dsfix.ini and it's showing the correct framerate using the steam counter. Everything's good here lol. Thanks a bunch <3

1 ladder which you normally don't even use, especially not for going down... Isn't that a headache, lol?

That's a myth only.

Never had that happen. The one ladder I've ever really had trouble with is the short one by the rats under the hellkite dragon. Sliding down that ladder has a tendency to have me clip through the ground and get me killed, though a quick exit and reload can save the day. And yes jumps are shorter, but this only ever really a concern if you're trying to speed run or use speed run shortcuts. Except for the roll to get back to the Asylum not working, which you have to learn to jump or set fps to 30. I survived (eventually) having to do both.

Why are you so upset that not everyone enjoys your Cinematic Experience?

I had experienced that myth enough times to deny unlocking.
