Is there any way to make this game brighter?
I get that "Dark" is kind of in the title, but the lighting in this game is often so poor that I can't even play it, nor do I think it in any way benefits the atmosphere. Graphics overall seem a bit murky, but in Blighttown and Tomb of the Giant I am literally walking off ledges because I can't see much. Now I am in Lost Izalith fighting against some weird creatures and the model is so dark that I can't make out what parts I can hit.

In the catacombs did you pick up a skull lantern? equip it and use L1/R1. There is a spell called cast light if your a spellcaster. Also a piece of equipment that does the same thing.

Ah thanks, so there actually is something. I had preferred some kind of mod to fix this, but I will look into that for my spellcaster character.

Not sure if you want to give up a spell slot for cast light. This is how the game is meant to be played.

Well actually there are some areas where the lighting is pretty awful even though it shouldn't be dark... Lost Izalith and the Demon Ruins are a perfect example. And sunlight maggot doesn't help there -obviously neither do Cast Light or the Skull Lantern-

My eyesight isn't the greatest when it comes to lighting or the lack thereof, so I tend to up the gamma of any game I play, even horror titles, as far it will go. For a lot of games, it's either that or not playing at all, and I fear that with Dark Souls I am reaching that point as well.

I think my mage guy can miss a slot, and maybe I'll give my knight some attunement so he can have it too.

Well, if you REALLY gotta play like thatm I would actually suggest using the Sunlight Maggot, at least you won't have to think about the lighting, at least on the Knight.

I see. You should be fine with any of the light sources. They're sometimes not necessary as you can still see their eyes in the darkness. Skull lantern will be enough for knight.

Will look that up on Google. Thank you for helping me despite of my crazy demands for lighting. I understand Dark Souls 2 has torches and look forward to playing it if I am still interested by the end of this.

Sounds absolutely fantastic to me at this point. I hope I am almost done with this game, but not quite sure.
