How I beat Kalameet
Easily the boss I died the most on during my first playthrough. Artorias was a huge pain in the ass but I ended up showing him up after a nights rest. I looked at a ton of different videos and advice tips on how to defeat Kalameet and came to realize that most of them disagreed heavily on what to use/how to attack. So heres what I did that resulted in my victory.

1) Get the giant to shoot him. Ontop of the Gazeebo, the place where you battle Artorias, theres a locked tower where Hawkeye Gough resides. You need to find a key from a mimic in the lower levels to unlock the door. Talk to him, answer yes to both questions, and he'll shoot the dragon out of the sky.

2) Get Naked. Online people will throw out tons of different loadout strategies on how to kill him. Listening to them only caused me more confusion and dilluted my attack strategy. Eventually I read a comment at the bottom of some bad forum about a guy getting his armor as low as he could. So I got butt naked with nothing but my weapon (black knight halbred) in two handed stance. The extremely low equipment load aided the next step greatly.

3) Go right. Spend your entire fight getting around to his right rear side. Do NOT get under him or infront of him. Being infront of him will obviously result in taking heavy hit from his melee attacks amd being under him will trigger his area breathe attack. He is large and rotates pretty fast, so being in the nude greatly helps getting around him. And by greatly, I mean you will be recieving 75% less connected hits. Running to his right will often cause him to either do his screetch attack or his standing flame spray, meaning if you're far enough to the right on his side, he will miss you completely and you will get 2-3 solid hits in.

Keep in mind that this fight is about attrition rather than beating to a pulp. If you're too far away from his right side or in line for his attack, just run away and try reapproaching from a more favorable side.

Solid guide. I actually never thought about always going right but it makes sense now that I think about it.

I always find mobility is key to beat Kalameet. Darkwood Grain ring with grass crest shield can keep you more than safe.

Depending on ones endurance, the Artorias Set has fairly high fire resistance while being fairly light.

There were just two things that worked for me: green blossoms and a shield with high magic defense. Nothing else helped.

I used my standard gear (Havel's set) and the big slow greatsword that I can't remember the name of. I was high on green blossoms the entire fight, which made it possible to block his attacks almost completely and recover stamina fast enough. I realized this only after having killed Artorias without green blossoms, which was a long and painful ordeal.

Long story short: use green blossoms with Artorias and Kalameet. They boost your stamina regen. Alternatively, get the Cloranthy ring in the Great Hollow.

It's a god send tbh. If you grab a summon/friend you can pretty much tank both Artorias and Kalameet with a Silver Knight Shield +5. The fire does hurt a little, but it's relatively easy to dodge, as is Artorias's unblockable leap.

Edit: to be fair however, it's difficult to get swipes at his tail when tanking this way. =\

Neither Artorias nor Kalameet do fire damage. They do magic damage.

Yup. I'm just conditioned to call the fiery stuff dragons breath out as fire. Imagine that. =P

If you ever stuck on any boss, just pull out the Greatshield of Artorias and turn the game into easy mode. Only if you have 34 strength though of course. Once you kill any boss once or twice you adapt and learn better strategies.
