No Skull Lantern - how to manage Tomb of the Giants?

I just finished Catacombs, but very unfortunately didn't receive any Skull Lantern. I believe that there is one Skull Lantern in the beginning part of Tomb of Giants, but the problem is that it is very difficult to get even to the first bonfire in the Tomb of the Giants without a Skull Lantern..

So, any tips on what should I do now? Is there any "substitutes" that would help me to see the area so that I could get into the first bonfire in the Tomb of the Giants, and possibly find a skull lantern around..?

You don't need a lantern to make it to the first bonfire. Following the prism stones will lead you near it and to a skull lantern. If you still have trouble sunlight maggot and cast light spell are the only other light sources

Save Dusk in Darkroot Basin, by killing Hydra and then Crystal Golem. She's selling light spells.

Or if you are carefull, there's only 2 giant skeletons to kill on the way to the first bonefire (Or none, if you run past them). Just watch for the glowing eyes, it's easy to see them really.

Man it's a ♥♥♥♥♥, but I didn't even know there was a light the first time though, since then I just never yoused one. You can see the eyes of the big skull bastards. You can watch some nerd on youtube do it to,

There's a skull lantern in the little pit that Patches knocks you into.
