Should I upgrade Drake Sword?

So, I am at the depts and such, using the drake sword. I have a dragon scale. Should I upgrade it? It seems kinda expensive 10k souls for a single upgrade. Other than that, what else could I use? I have the black knight halberd and sword, but I do not have dexterity enough to wield it :c
PS: I am a knight.

Don´t bother upgrading the drake sword, it is ridiculous early on, but falls off extremely hard later on

Drake Sword isn't worth the Souls and Scales because it does too less damage. Better use the Black Knight weapons.

Don't upgrade it. By the time you get to Blighttown swamp, start killing the slugs for large titanite shards. With those shards and the large ember you got at the beginning of the Depths, Andre can take any normal +5 weapon up to +10. You can easily get more damage than Drake sword with the right +10 weapon and str/dex stats to suit it.

You should go back to the blacksmith (via the elevator shortcut) and upgrade something to +5. The Halberd is a good early game weapon but it can really be anything that upgrades normally (Battle Axe, Zweihander, Longsword, etc.). Also make sure to get the Repairbox.

After you get the Large Ember and at least one Large Shard you can go back and +6 the weapon. Then assuming you have the Weapon Smithbox you can upgrade it up to +10 at the bonfire once you find more shards.
