Avoiding the branches to not fall to death is one thing, i can totally get it that its not too big of a deal to actually learn those attack patterns and timings and avoid it all but the firestorm...
Maybe this is just a low vitality issue but still, the firestorm as far as i can tell is pretty much rng and its like the last f**k you extra death for anyone just a few steps away from the core.

I actually equipped the max fire defense i could while maintaining sub 25% equip load including the ring and got 191 of that, still one shot me as a pyromancer with no extra points in vitality.

And sometimes instead of having a harmless fiery slide, upon landing on the platform that cancer casts it then and essentially gives zero chance to even attempt beating the boss simply making you do another run from the bonfire...

This boss is honestly so bad i am prepared to fight off a million fanboys coming from the "hard but fair" camp and it would still be more fair and not as cheap as the bed of chaos garbage.

Firestorm is a very damaging spell in general. As for dodging the spell, just avoid the areas on the ground that start to glow. That's where a pillar of flame will pop up. If you're in the one area leading to the heart, keep rolling towards it to dodge the flames. They made this fight purposely to be annoying. Kinda like the dragon god fight in demon's souls. Activate/hit something on the side and then head to the center for the kill.

In PvP i can easily dodge firestorms in time, this boss fight though, i am yet to find one safe spot where it wouldn't hit and yeah i always roll through the branches as fast as i can but sometimes i still die just barely out of reach of that thing at the core.

The one thing i haven't tried yet is using Great Magic Barrier, i'd assume that it only works against magic and not against pyromancies or lightning?

Well anyway it still took me 6 runs to beat this boss even though i've done it on three characters now, by comparison on this character i beat the Four Kings on my second attempt and only because i got greedy and tried to get one last hit in before using an estus on the first try and died with the boss on just two hits worth of hp.

You're preaching to the choir dude. Bosses are hard, sure, but the Bed of Chaos is the one boss fight that requires you to be lucky. Considering I stomped through the previous two bosses (as did most people, I'm sure), it's not a matter of being unprepared.

Bed of chaos is a bad bos and i don't think anyone will disagree. Even the dev's don't and apologiesed. he's a piece of ♥♥♥♥.

The spell you are thinking of is called flash sweat which is a pyromancy which can be bought from the pyromancer in firelink(the one saved from the depths). At some point, you will be able to beat the boss on your first try.

I've actually used flash sweat before, somehow it just didn't click for me to try and use it this time around. Anyway it says on the wiki it only reduces the damage by 45% well maybe it could be just enough to leave me with a tiny bit of health left... should try next time.

Bed of Chaos is the only boss in Dark Souls that is actually considered unfair by the community. It's just a bad boss in general. It's so bad that it would have been better if the Bed of Chaos just let you walk up to it and kill it.

Personally I think they should have just forced you to fight a gauntlet of demons instead. It would make a lot more sense considering the lore that the Black Knights couldn't penetrate the Bed of Chaos due to the massive amounts of demons. And it would be better than fighting a gimmick boss.

What? Seriously? Didint realise this o.o' every time i fought that bad boy i just rolled in there naked and then jumped down to beat the mutant lady down, i think this boss is so easy, its a fail.

Four kings are easy with pyromancy and full or nearly full Havels depending on how much you can equip before going over the max load. 10+ estus flasks recommended tho.

I'd check myself except i ain't got a PS3 and don't really have the spare cash to buy one for just a handful of exclusives... From what i have heard though i would probably like it better than Dark Souls.

I corpse-run that boss like 8 times, only to find a stupid bug in the center to one-hit... I almost hit the monitor for that! XD

He's not difficulty just a really really ♥♥♥♥ design. Also he one hits you if you hits you if I remember rightly
