Does killing Solaire bar me from becoming a Sunbro?

As the title says, I'm wondering if killing Solaire will make it so that I can't join the Warriors of Sunlight covenant. I'm working on a faith build, and I want the lightning/sunlight spears, but I also want some of Solaire's armor because it looks a bit more cleric-y than anything I've got.

you can kill him, there is no consequence aside from his questline/summons.

You WILL however have to live with the shame of killing sunbro. FEw shall forgive. Expect any invaders or summons that see you wearing that armor to black crystal or show no mercy. :P

There are two things that are completely unforgivable in Dark Souls. The number one spot is killing Quelaan (fan name for Quelaag's sister), and second is killing Brolaire. For me, and a large number of fans, there is also a third unforgivable act: killing Priscilla.

You have to kill him at least once if you want the armor, but you'll be without his help on the gargoyles, gaping dragon, O&S, centipede and Gwyn. If you've already "got gud" than you won't need him.

Well I wouldn't say I've got gud, per se, but I've found his help to be worthless on the Gargoyles and O&S, and I've never needed it for the Gaping Dragon. Wouldn't know about the Centipede or Gwyn yet.

I don't wish to spoil anything for you ,but in my mind there are only 3 or 4 NPCs you should kill in this game , you'll know when, Solaire is definitely NOT one of them.

I understand, alot of us liked the look of his armor, and the NPC helpers aren't super great to co-op with ,but sometimes all you need is just a little distraction ,when you get the bite of beating the Bosses and moving on.

With O&S at least I'm more useful as the distraction myself. :P
