ESC key does nothing, cant access a menu

Just got this today. After screwing around with it for an hour I've managed to get it to work alright, but I still cannout manage to bring up any kind of menu while in-game. There is no way to save. I cant exit unless I ALT-TAB out and close the program. I dont know if there is some kind of inventory or something but I can access that either if there is. Anyone else have this problem?

It's not a problem, it's controls. Press "End," not escape.

My thing says it's set for ESC to go to the menu, but it still isn't working. I read the thing about some people saying press End, and I tried that, but nothing at all. When I press escape or G, the movement in the game stops and my mouse appears, almost as if I clicked out of the screen. I didn't actually, i'm in fullscreen, I just mean it's acting as if I had.

anyway, this game doesn't pause when you press ESC or whatever button you set to bring up the menu, instead some small buttons appear in the top right corner of the screen, are you sure you didn't miss those?

Oh, I probably would've missed that, I was expecting either a fullscreen options thing or at least a miniscreen in the middle. I tried again just now and that doesn't happen either- the buttons that appear on the right side.

I'm pretty sure I have the correct specs for the system, but I could be wrong.

(Has anyone gone through the game without seeing the health bar and stuff? Just.... gunning it and yolo? Lol)

Wait, you don't see that either? If you're not seeing any UI at all then it's because you're using dsfix and you disabled the UI, you can toggle it on and off with right ctrl (or was it right shift? one of the two lol)

If instead you can see the UI like your healthbar and stuff, then maybe try rebinding the menu button to something other than ESC?

Turning the UI off is not DSfix related, that's a function built into the game itself. One of the F keys should undo it.

Probably, but it's not exclusive to it.

the problem is that the ui is not scaled right. go into system then option then UI scale and make sure it is at least 0.85. Then when you press esc the menu will appear.
