making a new build - any good ideas?

hey everyone, i'm a german player who played Dark Souls a long time now, but i only used the "normal" builds (strength, spellsword, etc). i want to make my very own build, and since i'm a huge castlevania fan, i thought i would make myself a demon hunter build.

Do you have any suggestions for such a kind of build? (weapons, armor, spells, miracles, pyro, and so on). i definitly want to use chesters coat, for the castlevania feel and the avelyn.

this build should not be a castlevania build, with a whip..but instead something like van helsing or other types like this.

i would love to hear your opinions and tips on this kind of build

allright, now i got another question:

i want to use a straight sword for this..which would be the best one?
also i'm still unsure about using magic/miracles, i don't know if something would fit a demon hunter

Balder side sword
Silver knight straight sword
are probably the top contenders in their category.

For miracles, maybe Vow of silence to stop those wicked demons from casting their evil spells?
and Magic barrier/great magic barrier

Yes, i think miracles will fit too. May get TWoP, Karmic Justice, Replenishment and the weapon buffs.

For the weapon, i recommend the Sunlight Straight Sword, the Dark Sword, Astora's Straight Sword or the normal Longsword.

I'm on my 3rd character right now. It's a "mutation" of my 2 previous run: A Wanderer that uses Halberds along with a little touch of magic.

I regret not dabbling in sorcery earlier. Fall Control FTW.

Castlevania Demon Hunter? Make sure you grab the Whip in Blighttown and buy a lot of Throwing Knives. Also make sure your character doesn't wear headgear and give him sexy long hair.

not directly castlevania..i heard the whips are pretty crap
he'll get a straight sword and some miracles, like darkmoon blade to banish the demons and karmic justice/wrath of the gods, to repel their evil forces

this is what i've come up with so far. let me know if it's good like this or if you see something to make better. this is the first build that i completely made myself^^
