any quick save mods
I know this is abhorent to any fans of the series. But I love the gameplay, and atmosphere. I tried demon souls but could not get into it cause i cant handle that you lose all your souls once you die 2 times. I got over 500 games I cant spend time trying to replay the game over and over again to lose all my hard work on accident. A quick save option would make this game much more playable to me. thanks.

Seriously?

yup. i love the challenge. I just cant handle the loss of progress. Dont have the time to restart my experience points (Souls) from the begining.

Then game isn't for you.

And you prob get banned for using a mod like that.

Wow didnt expect the hostility for such a suggestion. Modding every game is acceptable to pc gamers just not this one I guess. I get its a hardcore game yall have fun with it. I just want to be able to play it where I dont lose all my progress that I worked many hours for as a single player game.

I very much doubt modding games like this where you have an advantage is acceptable.

It's not a multiplayer game. It has limited coop where you send messages to people from my understanding like Demon Souls. Having an advantage in a competitive multiplayer game is unacceptable. No one should have a problem modding single player games like Witcher or Skyrim.

1. What you're asking is essentially a mod to remove what makes Dark Souls what it is. You've got to realize that the loss of progress/punishment it deals to you is what appeals to the fanbase. Of course it is not going to go over well with most of us.

2. Modding is required for this game, but those mods are all quality-of-life improvements such as fixing the mouse issues or upping the graphics. There is a difference between "modding" and "cheating". What you're asking for is the latter.

This game also as pvp.
First, no, there's no such mod because there can't be. You're talking about something that would require completely redesigning the game, not just slapping a couple of lines of code into an .ini somewhere. And second...

...no, you don't 'love the challenge.' If you loved it- or had any respect for it whatsoever- you'd realize that that's the whole point. What you're asking for is a way to take all of the focus of the gameplay out of the game. It's not that we're hardcore elitists, it's a fact. Take the death penalty out of Dark Souls and it becomes a mindless hack-and-slash where you can just throw yourself into every situation until you finally do it right.
I don't really care if you want a quicksave/load function at all. You have your idea of what makes the game fun and I have mine. But don't you dare say that you love the challenge when what you're asking is for the game to have no challenge.

The problem is quicksaving is missing the point of Dark Souls. Unlike most games you are not entitled to your Souls. Your Souls are simply a reward for getting the job done. So what if you loose your Souls? Souls are cheap and level farming is easy. In most games if you die and go back to a checkpoint you don't get to keep anything no matter how many times you do it. In Dark Souls if you die and get back to your bloodstain, you get all your souls back plus you keep any items you pick up. This is more rewarding and more fair since it actually takes into account the experience of the player, not just the character they play.

I find Baldur's Gate challenging, I find Skyrim on hard mode challenging. I find FTL challenging. I find fable 2 not challending at all to the point of boredom. I find Demon Souls too hardcore for my taste just like battletoads in nes or contra without cheat codes on nes. Some people have super fast reflexes and have all the time in the world. I do not. If they had a mod with quick save I would play it. I guess its just not for me. And I do like a challenge but a reasonable challange. That varries from person to person.

Ya I feel ya Malfsyde, I was just distraught when I died trying to recover my souls at the blood stain on demon souls. I felt That I could one day have 100,000 souls then lose it all by accidently dieing before getting to a bloodstain.

That's fair enough, but you've already said it yourself. This game isn't for you.

You like the challenge but not the penalties?
What's the point then?
It's like being an adult on the kiddies pool because you're afraid of drowning.
How will you learn how to swim?

The Answer?
No, not that i know, and it would be highly disapproved by the community if there was, it's an unfair advantage, and destroys the core of the game, it just breaks the spirit of unforgiving Trial and Error on souls games.

This is a "Nintendo Hard game"
Take your time, learn the tricks, the patterns, the methods, and you won't lose Bloodstain in a long time.

If you are willing to play it like it is, and conquer it, good luck.
And if you're not, may you find something else that suits you.
