next weapon after black knight sword?

i have a black knight sword +5, my questionn is: is there a wepon to go to after this?
i have claymore but while googling i did not find anything usefull, most of what i found was to go for +15 route, but +15 claymore does way less dmg than black night sword and other specs like lightning and divine, as far as i can tell are used for non str guys. am i misunderstanding something? my spec is elite knight aromor with various upgrades, and 35 str 18 dex 22 endurance. could someone suggest what i should be looking into or a weapon i could go after if one egzists?

P.S. i just killed spider queen and on my way to the fortrs and this my 1st time playing this game

He was joking. The drake sword is a crutch weapon that is often used by new players.

The black knight sword +5 is one of the most powerful weapons in the game, you dont need anything else, it will pretty much carry you through the rest of the game.

It's up to you, there are lots of good STR weapons. The Black Knight Sword is a really good one. You could try other Black Knight weapons, since they require similar stats. The BK Great Axe or the BK Great Sword or the BK Halberd seem like good choices. Or go for a Great Club.. A Demon's Greataxe has great scaling with STR so that's always a good choice to fully upgrade.

oh yes i forgot about dark knight halberd because it did not drop for me :D as far as know i still will be able to get one. or no? how does this works? if black knight doesnt drop his weapon you should basicly start a new game if you want one?

Manserpent Greatsword +15 will probably be better and about the same swing speed. It also has a half decent R2 attack instead of the BKS' incredibly slow attack.

if you are pure Str and dont want to go with something super slow (like the grate club or daemon great machete) you could try the man serpent greatsword. it should be about as fast as the black knight sword but with higher damage when fully upgraded. if you are a str dex mix maybe the zweehander or a halberd of some kind.

edit: someone beat me to the man serpent greatsword. just shows how stronk it is.

Claymore is actually one of the best weapons in the game, because it has good stat scaling and very good moveset, which allows you to perform some combos. I can advise you Artorias swords (all of them are actually pretty good), obsidian sword or flamberge (combos that you can do with this thing is amazing). At least, try all greatswords and choose your favorite.

yes i read that claymore is one the best weapons, but i dont understand why. i looked at the stats and its not looking fantastic. can someone explain what im missing?

I don't like it either. Just play and use what you like, and don't dwell on the wikis.

15+ normal path is for buff build such as low str, low dex int build. ( only normal weapon can be buffed) . Divine path is for faith build. If your build is not good simply go after fire or ligtnening to stack up some dmg. Considering it's your first playthrough, you problaly invested all 4 stats which gives no good result than specific build.

The damage on the claymore is decent, but you clearly want something...meatier. Man-Serpent Greatsword has been mentioned, and if you can put up with the R2s, your current Black Knight Sword is very powerful on its own. If you want to trade speed for power, get yourself a Zweihander, or a Black Knight Greatsword. Slower, yes, but they are extremely powerful when upgraded, and will serve quite nicely to introduce you to the tricks of strength weapons. Once you've had a nice taste of those, perhaps consider trying out the Black Knight Greataxe, or one of the Demon weapons -- Demon's Great Hammer, Demon's Great Axe, and Demon's Great Machete. The R2s of the last are similar to the Black Knight weapons in both slowness and power. The Black Knight Halberd should also serve you well if you intend to mix Strength and Dexterity, and its R2s are more servicable than the other BK weapons. As for missing BK weapons, don't worry. You'll get to an area with easy access to respawning Black Knights, and be able to farm all of their weapons within a matter of minutes.

Claymore is a really good choice. Its damage isnt that great compared to other greatswords, but its main strength is in its moveset. The stab, the combos, speed, ect. One of the best weapons in the game for PVE and PVP just because of its moveset.

And claymore is better then bks when fully upgraded and at 40 dex and 40 strength.

Claymore is meant for a mixed strength/dex build. If you're going pure strength, you want the MSGS, or basically any of the Greatswords/Clubs/Axes--they all scale to strength. The Black Knight Sword is definitely strong enough on its own to get you through the rest of the game though.

High scaling with a good moveset. BK weapons have high value up front but drop off drastically at higher levels.
