Cannot Kindle Further Without The Secret Rite

soooo, im a noob at this game so im sorry if my question seems obvious for long time fans out there.....
i have 10 estus flasks in my inventory ( i didnt upgrade to 15 or 20 even though i would be happy if someone could explain to me how to do that) and so i came to a bonfire so i can kindle it but even as a human with 1 humanity in my inventory the game wouldnt let me, it said ''Cannot Kindle Further Without The Secret Rite''....
what was also strange that i was able to kindle the last bonfire i discovered in sen's fortress, but the bonfire i discovered before that one (the one you discover after killing quelaag)
so what do i do here? please help, and thanks anyway :)

You can kindle a bonfire from a standing start. They give 5, Kindling gives it 10. Secret rite is obtained in the catacombs which allows you to up it to 15 and 20. Some bonfire like Fire link, The First one in Anor Londo, and Quelaags sisters bonfire all start with 10 because they are fire keeper bonfires

Thus you cant Kindle ones that already give 10 without the rite.

yeah ive heard that pinweel is very hard so i wanted and still want to find another way to kindle without fighting him, but yet again, ive heard that dark souls is the hardest video game ever made, but compared to the games ive played in the past it feels like a f*cking kirby game

the most annoying part are those stupid bonewheels right before the boss...aside from that its just a matter of know where all the levels and necromancers are. All these you can find on youtube anyways. Also don't miss the 2nd hidden bonfire.

I doubt it is the hardest, but it can be very uncompromising and for very good reasons. Getting to pinwheel is the annoying part, the boss himself is a complete joke.

nope, I usually go clear kill pinwheel after I finish Ornstein, usually by then I'll have a decent amount of humanity to kindle some of the bonfires to max so I don't have to go running around too much before going into ng+
