edit: ok, you can. Noted.
Best thing (and what I do on every faith build I run these days):
start from 2nd catacombs bonfire
1 get Leeroy to kill pinwheel while you stand back and watch
2 go into tomb, great combustion any skellys in your way, and don't die
3 ignore bonfire
4 do patches event and rescue Reah (twop is your friend here)
5 if you've run out/low on spells/estus homeward, and repeat 2, if not go to 6
6 suicide for large divine ember, if you're worried about souls/humanity use a ring of sacrifice, otherwise spawn someone a vagrant
7 run out of the catacombs with your ember, visit Reah on the way to Andre and get wotg
8 win and enjoy two-shotting silver knights or overkilling them with ripostes

I'm confused as to what Blighttown has to do with Tomb of the Giants
Iaito is a katana you get in Blighttown, Farnese is having trouble seeing how Iaito comes into play with this "shortcut" you used to get the Ember. As do I.
