*Spoilers Bad Ending is the Good Ending
At first, when i realized i chose the bad ending,i became really sad because i always choose the good endings in games. But then i realized,it was actually the good ending.Let me tell you how.I didnt link the Fire, because it was all that started it.It made Gwyn bad, indirectly killed many people, and created the bonfires. Now you are going to ask "But arent Bonfires good?'.No,they arent. In the description of the Homeward miracle it says "Maybe bonfires are an Undead's home?".And the thing is,if something doesnt have a home, doesnt have somewhere it belongs to,then it just doesnt exist (It says home, not house). Also what does the Darksign in the inventory look like?A ring of FLAME.Also,Undead and Hollows are weak against fire. Why?Because if something kills you,it can probably kill you another time too. They said the First Flame's fuel was weaking, then how did Gwyn fight us full-power?What do you guys think about this?

There is no good ending, both are bad... in my opinion.

i think the link the fire ending is the good ending because once the first flame fades the curse comes and kinda destroys humanity and turns everyone into zombie like beings by rekindling the flame you are wiping away the age of dark and are bringing back the age of light where hollows dont exist but also by rekindling the flame ur kinda creating a giant fireball that destroys everything and restarts the cycle in the end it doesnt really matter what you do cuz its a endless cycle if u link the flame it just restarts the cycle but hollows wont be around for awhile if you decide to not relink the flame then another chosen undead will eventually come along and kill you like you did to lord gwyn and relink the flame so really it doesnt matter both the endings kinda have the same meaning. also pls forgive my bad grammars.

The endings are subjective.

If you dont rekindle the fire, you start a new age,you fight against your fear.If you do rekindle the fire, your are just running away, you dont try anything new, nothing evolves, nothing becomes better. Its just same, old and boring.

Change is not always good...

This game lacks moral for the endings except for Solarie. Which is a discussion for another time. The endings alignment to good or bad is not the issue, the issue is interpretation. Not sacrificing your life to the first flame meant that the world would be plunged into darkness. Which is bad I guess, no one wants that. But if not rekindling puts the undead to rest that is also good. The endings kinda like a catch 22, one hand you save the world from darkness. On the other you put the undead to rest.

Like many before me already said:

The endings are subjective.

We don't fight Gwyn: Lord of Sunlight though
We Fight Gwyn Lord of Cinder.
He's hardly full power, he's essentially hollow

This ^ , Also we know now that it is basically a cycle and that none of the endings matter.
Kindle the flame --> eventually they will fade anyway
Walk away --> eventually someone will initiate a new age of fire
It's a cycle that we can hopefully break in DS3

aye, this.

But by kindling the flame you're only delaying the inevitable.

Doesn't matter because if you don't, someone else does.

Dark Souls is supposed to be a tragedy, there IS no good ending or bad ending. It's just, your choice.

There's not really any morals involved, just pick your poison.

Sorry I couldn't hold in the cringe for this 4 year old thread and the poor punctuations being shoved in between the words.
