Rang first bell, am level 28, failed at lower undead burg boss. What should I do now?
I am playing this game for the first time.

I started as a worrior with the "tiny bit of humanity or every enemy" thing. I have currently no slot for miracles, played without them but baught heal but have no slot atm.

Stats are

15 vitality
9 attunement
16 endurance
15 dex
20 strength
9 magic
14 resistence
12 faith

I have read that its useless to but into resistence that I would put it to vitality and something instead, is this right?

I am wearing a mix of +1/2 upgraded bolder, elite knight and starting armor from the worrior. I have the dragon sword.

I have about 12000 souls and am at the blacksmith and just killed the miniboss behind him. I should to to the depths now right? But the caprace demon or what he is called feels to hard for me. I have seen vids where they block his attacks. He hits 80% of me with one hit or something, I always failed running past him and doing this cliff stategys. I feel I need a better armor and like to know if I should get the stone armor of better upgrade the elite knight armor to +10 (that would require a lot of farming, and I do not like to farm).

http://darksouls.wikia.com/wiki/Elite_Knight_Set

There is this wiki that says "On the other hand, the Elite Knight set features generally unremarkable Poise. " So the Poise is bad on this armor but they speak of nerf? Why nerv something that is bad I not get it.

So I was thinking about getting the stone armor, that would give me something close to the 10+ elite knight armor right? I even have seen level 1 chars running there on YT but on the other hand I have read a lot of comments of peopel getting insta killed by the hyrad or even before that. I am not so fond of this "cheaty" running things. Also I would not ♥♥♥♥ to loose my 12000 now. Sould I farm 20000 and open the door normally? Should I just level up and try to kill the Hydra or the Carpace (or what he is called) the way I am now? Or start to upgrade my elite knight armor as far as I have souls? (have only 2 shards right now I think)

I am just looking for the most fun, and easy way to advance in the game. Thanks for any guidance.

I also have not lit any bonefires, have no humanity as usual. I upgraded the heal thing +1 recently but always played trough the areas with 5 heals without any miracle. I could also get the heal slot ready now, but not so sure if I should better invest this sould in armor or something.

1. Poise is good, but not needed in pve. Its more a pvp thing. It helps only if you don't want to get stunlocked.
2. normal "bossway" Taurus -> Gargoyles -> Capra , you need to do it. A +5 weapon is good enough to beat him. You get the amber to upgrade your weapons further at the depths (area after capra).
3. More armor is not better. It makes you maybe take one more hit and thats all.
4. Hydra is optional and only needed way later for the dlc.
5. Place your sign at undead burg/church where you fought gargoyles. Every time you beat them with a rnd player you get 1 soft humanity and some souls. AND you get to learn more things by doing an area over and over again.

Oh and btw. Elite knight set is op cuz the weight isn't very hight but the physical reduction and poise is pretty hight in comparison to other armor sets.

get rid of the drake sword and upgrade a long sword or claymore or even the helbert to +5. this will deal more dmg than the drake sword. use the shield with the hiest stability that you have.
Kudos for not giving up ;-)
1. I probably never play PVP good to know thanks. Appies to 5. as well, not want to farm with someone on PVP. So no easy humanity for me I guess.
2. Who is him? Capra? I need a +5 Weapon to beat hum but I get the amber in the area I only can go after beating him? Makes no sense to me^^ so whats wrong?

The elite knight armor is much ligther then the stone armor, I will be faster with it right? So I guess I will start upgrading this rather then trying to get the stone armor?
You should try PVP when you have beaten the game.
It's fun ;-)

the ember Dura was talking about is to take you weapon from +5 to +6. You can upgrade your weapon with the blacksmith andre to +5, he even sells the shards for 800 souls.

I have written further, so i meant to upgrade them after +5 and i meant capra with him. The drakesword is weaker than a good +5 at that point already.
Strage I thought It was a good sword for easy (or am I past early now?), I also upgraded it with +1. But its not shown somehow. Bad Idea?

I have the claimore. So I upgrade that now, thanks.

VERY bad idea. You wasted a dragon scale (which are hard to get) and 5k souls for a weapons thats only good till you get a weapon to +5.
Just calculate it a bit. The drakesword has 200 dmg, no scaling. ONLY 200 dmg overall. Something like the battle axe has 140 dmg + scaling. At 20 str it will deal already more dmg than the drakesword AND you can buff normal weapons with gold pine or magic weapon. You can't do that with the drakesword. So you will get a higher dmg output with a normal weapon than the drakesword already at capra.

Btw. You need to decide on a build now or you will have problems later on, because you could have wasted stats.

well depends what build u want fast roll ? mid roll-fatroll or fatroll depends the stats the gear even the weapons ! i use midroll -fatroll depends the the bossor place ...but most of the time i use mid roll (havels ring with fap ring giants armor giant shield and zweihander and i make sure that i can use sunblade buff for more dmg for 30 sec) sometimes u roll at the right but if the game starts ''trolling u will end up rolling at the wrong side so on pc i dont fast roll cause if u do a mistake like this you re DEAD...run again from the start lol....but none makes you what to do ...we just giving you different hints and opinion lautrecs ring is must tbh ring of favor and protection and what i use are between havel's ring and chloranthy ring as i said above i change them when i need 1 of those most in a current battle or place....anyway have fun and get ready to die even stupidly xD !

hi, u got the elite knight set? if so, upgrade it. The bearded blacksmith sells the material and upgrades it. With ur stats, a greatsword would be fine, u can try the bastard sword, sold by the same npc, u can 1 hand it. As for resisting the capra demon hits, get a shield from andre too or if u have the hollow soldier shield, u can upgrade that too. But one thing u need is the wolf ring. Its in the forest, just before the corpse that has the elite knight set, there is a tree. Kill it, follow the path, enter a ruin and at the end, after a stone soldier, is the wolf ring. With that set up u should be able to take at least some hits from capra demon. U can farm stone soldiers while they get up, there is a bonfire in the forest, next to the "shiny" door, hit the wall and there is it.
Capra demon requires agility. A strong weapon and good shield are what you need. The armor is just weighing you down. Unequip all your armor and see just how much faster you can run and roll. It will make all the difference in winning this fight.
My best shields are knight shield and hollow shield, I have a lot of them. All never upgraded. I can stupid farm this 550 souls at the bridge now since I never killed the dragon. Just lost 400 sould again trying the black guy on the top of the tower, gotta love this game ;)

I have +5 Claymore now and +1/+2 elite knight set eqipped. What a waste upgrading my other armor parts. I was like WTF 144 or something claimore does now. So it scales with my steigth but the dragon sword does not? I need dragon scales later? Can I get the lost one back or am I not able to upgrade some elite armor or something later because I wasted it?

Thanks I think that is what I am doing to do now, trying to get some souls there and get the shield upgraded amd pf corse the ring. Wich one the hollow or the knight shield?
Grass Crest shield is good for stamina regeneration. You can find it by going into Darkroot forest and taking a right turn into Darkroot Basin. There is a Black Knight guarding the shield, but you can get around him by rolling past his attacks (careful not to roll off the cliff, though) and looting the corpse. Get past the Knight again and run! For best results, remove all armor and just equip your weapon and shield. You shouldn't have any problem getting away from the Knight, and he's the only enemy in that part of Darkroot. Grass Crest upgrades normally with titanite shards and is light weight. The stamina regeneration bonus of this shield makes up for its relative weakness compared to many larger ones.

Behind the 144 on the right side should be another number, it shows your scaling.
Actually, you do not need any dragon scales, but if you go on a strength build, the dragon axe is nice to have. Its pretty nice, needs a ton of strenght to wield and 10 dragon scales to upgrade. Also dragon scales are needed to lvl up in an optional convenant.
