Bad color gradients/banding, like 16bit
Hello!

I have a problem with colors in Dark Souls: Prepare to Die Edition with DSFix 2.4. The problem still occurs without DSFix. I have some ugly color gradients and color banding, especially in the sky or in dark, foggy areas (in the backgrounds). My game is set to 32bit, but it looks like 8/16bit. Changing the game to 16bit makes no difference.

Im rendering the game in 4k and downsampling to 1080p. GTX 970 with updated drivers, Windows 10, 32bit in control panel.

Those color transitions look really really bad. It's much easier to notice in game, but it's also visible on those photos:

Anything I can do with this issue?

Background, sky, trees buildings, I dont think I should see that kind of color banding I think? Shouldn't it transite between the colours smoothly, like this?

It's something like this:

I don't see it... probably it's your monitor's fault.

It's supposed to look that way, or rather, it never looked different from that. I have no idea why it's a thing or how it comes about, but I doubt it's an artistic choice. Maybe low-resolution DoF or fog is the cause?

The screenshots look perfectly normal to me, and I have to think that your display may be showing you something that the screenshot is not....However, if you look at a screenshot with your monitor, it would probally perpetuate the graphical error.

What monitor make and model are you using Kahki?

Hahhahaaa.....I wasted time over in the "grass simulator" forum also today.

Since this was a troll post, and I wasted time, I am going to have to let you in on the real secret to saving time:

Even though this guy doesn't appear to own it, another thing to note is that if you scroll through the resolutions it gives you options for 32 bit, and 16 bit, but you have to scroll through alot.
