Ds1 prepare to die edition, the best "Souldborne up to date"
Still unbeatable, this game is really something that will never die.

Never played DeS but it's so cool that there are unique armor sets and clothes for male/female characters, and how animations look cooler than what FS came up with later. Saw a plenty of footage and it has that Shadow Tower Abyss energy to it, a game that I really enjoyed.

i fail to see whats so special about it.
Its better than DS2 for sure but not as good as DS3

I guess it depends on what you value in your games. DS3 is the most polished of the bunch no doubt but it has like 0 creativity and completely relies on Nostalgia bait. It's like they went through a checklist of what the previous Souls games had an offer and simply polished that up. Everything feels like "been there, done that". From the Hub area being Firelink Shrine to there being yet another poison swamp to even reusing Siegmeyer ("cleverly" renamed Siegward) the game never truly does its own thing. The only area that felt unique was Irithyll because we never had a gorgeous city area before but that's about it.
The game does look good but at the same I feel like it is a weird mix of the Souls and Bloodborne aesthetic and that didn't really work for me.

DeS has always been better.
BB is several times better.
And now, there's ER that's basically DaS1 but open world. Again, several times better.
Well, at least you can say it's the best game outta the Dark Souls trilogy.
Eh, I'd put DeS and Dark Souls on the same level. Dark Souls is basically "what if the areas in the 5 archstones were actually connected?". I also think the open world in ER does not work with the Souls formula so that's not really a pro.
Agree with Bloodborne though, this is peak Souls game.

i must admit that the graphics make DS1 not as appealing as DS3. Better graphics DO make a game more fun. At least in this case.
When it comes to originallity. Look at DS3 as a soft remake of DS1 and it will make much more sense. Dont treat it like a proper sequel but rather a reimageing of the first Dark Souls.

Anyway, lets not forget that gameplay is much more polished than DS1. There are way more builds, more spells. Story of the main game and NPCs arent as good as the original, BUT the DLC is much better than anything of the original. Especially Ringed City is amazing....

no im serious. i love the simplicity of its levels.
have you played on the ps5? The haptics from the controller are also great.

It's pretty mid, very poorly made and filled with flaws. Every game after is better, people just like this one for nostalgia and it being iconic.
Hell even Demon souls is better.

Yeah, with PS4 emulator, but does it run decently enough to be playable?

I think that it'll be in a playable state fairly soon. Accuracy however... PCSX2 still cannot render some effects in certain games...

Simply stopped loading lately. Hangs on a starting screen - where you see the Press the Start button input.

DeS will always be the best.
