If that didn't work, can you bring up the mouse cursor by using the right trackpad while holding down the [STEAM]-button? If yes, you can try using the mouse to get out. The right trigger will act like a left mouse-click.
Also if you are using the dsfix mod, you may need to use the following launch option for it to work:
Edit: I've just tried it and yeah, if you get to the part, where you get the blinking cursor and can't do anything, just bring up the keyboard manually and it should let you enter the name properly.

What worked for me was to tap Cancel on the very first input prompt thrown by the keyboard UI, then start typing the name. As long as the name field shows a blinking _ cursor, it should pick up the keyboard input properly.
