Quelaag's Sister
I want to kill Quelaag's sister for her firekeepers soul, tried doing some research and became confused. Is there any dialog I should go through with her, specifically regarding her covenant? Is it even worth killing her for her firekeeper's soul? Any help would be much appreciated! Thanks!

That would be any specific dialog I go through with her before killing her.

I would just keep her alive if it weren't for her soul. Mwahahaha. But you know what I mean, if you've beaten the game, what "plus" do you have your estus flask at?

shortcut to lost Izalith and a pyromancy

20 estus is max

Joining her Covenant and offering her humanity will make her feel better and curing her current sickness.

You need the Old Witch's Ring to understand what she's talking about otherwise you 2 can't communicate and she will always say "..." upon interaction.

Joining her Covenant also gets you access to 2 strong Chaos Pyromancy spells, as well as a shortcut to Lost Izalith which is required if you want to save a specific NPC from his fate (if you do it the normal way, there are ways you can do without the shortcut active).

If you want to kill her in order to level up your Estus with the Firekeeper Soul she drops, remember once your Estus Flask is already 20 use, it's pointless to kill her for the Firekeeper Soul because you'd have no use besides consuming it.

I was wrong, the Firekeeper Soul increases heal amount per upgrade. The max is 7, I think. So if you've already reached that, any more Firekeeper Soul is pointless.

That's not how it works. It's the rite of kindling that gets you the 20 uses. The fire keeper soul adds a +1 to your estus flask so that it recovers more health per use.

Yes you're right, I was indeed wrong. Memory got stuffed up a bit over there.

I just remembered that +7 (I think) should be the max cap, and using Firekeeper Souls increases HP per use instead of how many use there is.

20 estus uses has nothing to do with firekeeper souls. That's kindling.

After opening the shortcut and getting the pyromancy from her for 30 soft humanity she serves only rp purpose. Old witch's ring makes you able to hear her dialogue.

I suggest that before going for Gwyn you kill her for her soul and reinforce your flask to +6.

his may sound stupid but is their a point to killing her. you are supose to be the good guy here right? why kill her? why not just kill every character you come across and end the game with the dark lord ending

Honestly though I think in the end of the day, it's really hard to judge whether killing her or leaving her alive would be the better solution. I mean, you killed her sister, her only family left btw, in cold blood, just because you want to ring forking bell.

Your toon seems to feel guilty about it hence they exploit her blindness to act and play the role of the deceased sister whenever they talk to Quelaag's Sister in order to not let her find out about Quelaag's death.

But then again, should you leave her alone forever eternally waiting for her sister to come back, or should you kill her so at least that torment is excused from her?

Dunno.

But hey, gotta go for that sweeeeeeeeeeet Estus Flask +6 !!!!!!!! (???)

I like the idea of getting a terminally ill person (though she doesn't die from it, she just stays forever at the verge of death) back to good health (somewhat), then kill them.

Sounds very moral and definitely not counterproductive at all.

And if you have what it takes, equip the Old Witch's Ring before you kill her, you'd be in for a big shocker.

EDIT: It's imo better to let her wait forever, because it's not like she has an intelligence of a dog or something, she'd figured out that her sister had died sooner or later. And obviously, she'd also learn how to live with it, she knows that she still has a duty at hand (when she took it upon herself to govern the Blighttown), and that she can't die yet. That should be the best conclusion in this scenario imo.

But anyway, your game, your choice.

The max for estus is to +7

How dare you.

You can get to +7 Flasks by getting the Firekeeper souls in NG+. Leave Blind Spider Waifu alone.
nomoreblues Mar 29, 2016 @ 2:15am
You can't get +7 on NG anyway, 3 FKSouls are moderately easy to get, at least before Anor Londo on NG+.Facing NG-Gwyn with Estus >+5 is like...well, if you don't go for NG+ it's ok

You can save Solaire without joining the covenant, however it's a glitch and for some people that's enough to make them not want to do it.

Get the poison mist pyromancy, go to the shortcut door in Lost Izalith - just left of the middle and cast it. If you see damage ticking that means the maggot will die. Solaire is now safe!

If you do that you can kill Queelag's sister for the Firekeeper Soul whenever you want and save Solaire.

Another option to save Solaire would be to never talk to him before getting to Lost Izalith and killing the sunlight maggot then go back to Undead Burg and talk to him in all his later locations. You can still summon him for bossfights but you won't be able to put down your own sign until then and you will need to plan for it in advance.
It's still an exploit of sorts but at least it's not casting magic through walls :D
