She sells some rare items, and I'm in an area that I need some curse cures for. Also want some sweet moss for poison, though I can get it in the garden.

While we are here, what is the imporantce of killing the butterfly and Sif?

Butterfly is 100% optional but if you don't have the Master Key, you can't kill Havel and unlock that shortcut (that you probably won't use.)

Killing Sif is necessary to finish the game, as he gives you the Covenant of Artorias.

Purging stones are cheaper from Oswald. But, the female merchant does sell some other cool items.
