Sif the great grey wolf
Well I finally made it to this fluffy sob (SL=35).
Normally I try to block and attack and/or use my lightning spear.
I can tell that both these tactics are obselite to mr. jump and slash here.

So my question is if you guys got any advice how to approach this guy? I tried staying under him but his spinning attack keeps instakilling me.

Rolling. Don't block. Equip the grass crest shield but two hand your weapon so you still get the stamina regen effect. Roll underneath him and attack his legs. You may be underlevled, what gear are you using?

He is weak to fire and bleeding. Staying below his belly is good, eventually you'll have to block, some atacks can hit you even if you are below him. You got a reason to face him in such a low level ? You can't even use the cursed version of the Greatsword of Artorias. Unless you want the red orb...

Mid roll is viable but requires good timing.
Fast roll makes it easier.
You want to find the spot (on his left or right side, can't remember) where you can stay under him without getting pushed into his spin attack.
And baiting him in a corner of the arena will make him jump less.
All that is if you want to melee him like a man, of course.

Am I correct in assuming there are three distinct roll speeds based on your equip weight???

Yup, the main thresholds are 25%, 50% and 100%.
Then you have a slight difference between 26% and 49% for instance...

Okay. So there are the hard thresholds and the variant mud roll between 25 and 50. Got it.

I dont know why I am such a low level? I just went on with the story. currently I have beaten:
Asylum Demon
Taurus Demon
Bell garygoyels
Carpa Demon
Gaping Dragon
Moonlight butterfly

I thought he was just the next in line so went to the forrest (even killing the hydra). Should I instead start grinding till a certain level.

Currently I use as equipment the thief set (dark leather) with the dragon sword / mace +5 and the tower shield / mericle thing. I got a ring which gives me increased weight so I think I have currently 25% of my weight for a fast roll.

Tank him with a shield of good stability and get a good poise(ring of the wolf) in case he got you you.
He is really easy when you know how are his patterns

I went Undead Burg Undead Parish Lower Burg Depths (Failed BlightTown) Forest and Forest Depth. Getting ready for Blight.

That leaves New Londo Ruins, Catacombs, Hyrda Lake area, and extended Asylum to explore for me.

What is your current soul level because I did almost the same?
Erebus Apr 16, 2016 @ 4:40pm
I couldn't tell you without checking to be honest. But that is the most straight forward path.
Dr. Sex Apr 16, 2016 @ 4:41pm
Are your weapons at least +5 yet? If not, grind up souls and buy some shards from the weapon smith. What are your stats? Lightning spear might not be the best choice if you can't get past blighttown.

Edit: Regardless of the above, it won't make up for inability to dodge. If you're having trouble with that, go get some practice dodging right before the attack hits. Remember, the dodge doesn't start until you release the dodge button.

I started as Knight. Grabbed Dragon Sword by arriving dragon. Tiny Being Ring. Blue Tear then Evil Eye rings. I have yet to "need" to upgrade gear. I finally did just for fun. Dragon Sword face rolls.
