Up Faith to join sunlight Covenant?

Something I can't do with my pathetic 8 faith, I'm going for a battlemage build (Strength, Vitality, Endurance, Intelligence [still haven't found someone who sells spells] and apart from a bit of dex for some weapons, I think that's about it) and I want to join the sun bros, because I want to be a glorous sunlight warrior and throw lightning bolts at all these foul beasts around me. I know you can lower the req. by helping people slay bosses, but I've heard they disabled the multiplayer in the past few weeks and also I live in Australia and am unsure if I could even find people to play with.

Currently around soul level 29 or something and am just asking if I should start boosting my 8 faith up to 25 for sunbros (mainly for the spear) and miracles. Thanks.

What are you asking exactly? Yes, the Faith req to join the covenant is 25, it can be lowered by 5 for engaging in successful, boss-killing jolly cooperation. Each time you do so, it lowers again.

You should boost your faith if you want the miracles to deal damage in the first place, so...

You also need atleast 20 faith anyhow to atleast use the Lightning Spear, soooo

If you are going int, you dont want to bother with sunlight spear. Otherwise, just run jolly cooperation 4 times and the requirement will be what, 5 faith to join?

Problem with that is that Online is dead, so he will need atleast 25 Faith for him to join.

He would have, seeing as he clearly asked about the lightning spear miracle.

Sunlight medals can still be aquired offline, they are drops and will take a while but can be done. You need the faith to use the miracles anyway.

My Int is 20 now, but I've refrained from upping it for now because I can't find a spell shop, I'm just going into "The depths" or something now to ring the second bell, any advice on how long until I can start getting spells?

So, if I'm going with my current stats, should I just get them up to a good level (soft cap maybe) and then start leveling Faith late game? I would love to use the sunlight spear, it's so badass.

Just keep playing you'll find the spells, just keep going.

It's a crap spell that does moderate damage. Just make a faith build and use it on there.

Spell shop is back in Lower Undead Burg. Remember the fire-breathing dragon? There's a locked door on the opposite side of the bridge you can access now. Remember the undead merchant before the Taurus demon? Get his key. Find the door in Lower Undead burg it goes to. After you discover what's inside, go back to firelink with enough souls to buy spells.
