Black Knight, Undead Parish Tower
So I thought I'd give this one a go. I'm level 15, have the Drake Sword. Have read that others have done at lower level and worsse gear.

The thing is that I find him far too fast for me. Even below 50% I can't even get behind him, his face follows me constantly. This makes it very hard to get any backstabs in. Also, his attacks seem way faster than they ought to be, considering his large weapons. All I do is dodge and can't even get an opening to attack him, he just keeps attacking back. Once he hit me three times in three seconds.

I do realize it's about skill but I can't really see how I'm supposed to be able to react that fast.

Black Knight or the Tower Knight inside of the church type building?

Black knights you can actually parry relatively easy, so consider that.

If the tower knight is your problem, consider using a faster weapons. I haven't played with Drake Sword but I assume it's not too fast. Lock on the knight, when he swings roll back, then roll towards him, hit and roll back. Even if you don't do much damage to him at once, it's almost risk free as you attack and retreat fast enough.

You can also learn to roll though the attacks but that's riskier and the way above is safer

We just lure him down into another area to fight.

Ok, some clarification. It's the knight at top of the tower. The church knight was super easy. And I did lure him down. Both to where the boar was and then to the bonfire near the dragon.

The thing is I just don't get the opportunity to hit him. His attacks seem faster than mine. If I dodge and then run in to hit him, he starts his next attack that I have to dodge and so on. And it's not one attack but often two or three.

We usually bait his attacks and only attack after his wind up attack where he drags his swrod in the ground, and his jab. His sweap attacks can connect to more things and we can attack when we know he is done. Just have to learn his moveset. Been locked on? Try without lockon so you can move behind him more freely for Backstabs.

In that case use your shield to block his attacks, attack him and roll back to recover stamina. You can actually use the stairs to your advantage as most of the attacks go above your head and you can hit the enemies in the legs with almost no risk. But even so would wait for him to finish his attacks before you hit.
Try using the Halberd as it is a long range thrust so you can hit him from safe distance.

Not all enemies were meant to be able to be turned around, and backstabbed. I suggest coming back at a higher level, and better gear. Just because some other people beat him being a lower level than you, and having worse gear, that doesn't mean yous hould keep trying to defeat him with your current level and gear. You can also parry his attacks.

my first kill on that guy was with a spear, shield, and the stairs of his tower. lure him onto the stairs and hug the wall on your left. turtle-poke between attacks, nearly all of them will sail over your head.

Ok, thanks for the replies. I was wondering if I perhaps would trying to do something that wasn't possible. Gonna upgrade some more gear (forgot I had a shield to upgrade) and give it a shot later.
