Berenike Knight tips?
I beat the boar. I killed the archers, threw a couple fire bombs until I accidently fell down, I quickly took cover behind some fire, and the dumb hog ran right into it, doing barely any damage to me, and pretty much letting me kill it with a couple fire bombs. It seemed he was stuck... lol.

Anyways, I have a new question. About the Berenike Knight behind the boar. Now, one strike from this guy will take about half my health, and since I'm a Medium/light armor Thief, I don't have the best poise. So one strike, I'm down long enough for him to get me again. But I have an idea to (At least for a while) get rid of him without engaging in combat JUUUUST yet. I had an idea to trap him behind the boar's gate. The idea is to run into the boar arena, let him chase me in, then run for the gate control as fast as I can. Trapping him. At least for long enough for me to get the Sunny-D upgrade (let me know if you get the reference. Hint: ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥.) and unlocking the elevator to Firelink keep. I'll probably get the upgrade, get to firelink, upgrade my Sunny-D, maybe rest and level up/get back some Sunny-D, then return to try to kill the knight. Sound like a good plan, or should I just grow some balls and try to kill it straight up?

Note: I have a sacrifice ring, so I CAN die once without losing anything, but I think the boss for this level is the Gargoyle, and I heard that's when the game starts getting hard, I don't want to waste my ring on some miniboss just before the big baddie, and I can't find any tips for him. Is he weak to fire? Because if so, I pobably have this in the bag as long as I can avoid his attacks or outrun him.

A giant rat? Unless you are in the sewers I think you mean a boar/hog/pig in armor. Pick the soldiers off one by one and go up the stairs at the side to get rid of the archers. You can then have fun with that mini boss. Hint: Look around in the environment, he does not like fire.

The guy at the top of the tower is a black knight and those are really tough, killing him won't make you progress the story but it can give you some items, but come back later for him.

That is no rat, it's a boar in armor. That's the way you wanna head one enemy at a time. Make sure you kicked the ladder to the bonfire unless you've lit the bonfire under the hellkite dragon. That's more than enough tips for now, I don't want to spoil your experience.

Okay, so boar, now that I think of it, it looks more like a boar.

So, pick the soldiers off 1 by 1 with the bow, then kill the pig with fire? Easy, I hoarded tons of firebombs before going for the Tourus demon. All I need are arrows and (If my predictions are correct.) enough skill to dodge the Boar's attacks. I'm thinking charging attacks, yes? Soooo, bait it into fire and use fire bombs?

You don't need to kill the soldiers with arrows, you can lure them to you, and the archers on the bridge you can kill by going up the stairs. The boar is strong so make sure you can get out of the way or behind cover. I don't know if firebombs work, but flames sure hurt him.

And if he's too strong you can always run past him down some stairs I think.

Don't forget: Running away is a legit strategy sometimes :D

But yes, if it were me I would just kill the low level mobs first (especially those annoying archers), then come for the boar. Also explore the area because there are places where the boar won't follow. And I won't say more.

I took care of the boar.

Sorry, I focused on the comments and totally forgot about that. About the knight, I'm not sure about baiting him all the way to the gates, it's still quite a distance? I think it is an interesting idea, you should try it though. Especially if you're not comfortable with running past him :D Also there's another bonfire nearby, not gonna say where. You can spend your souls there and upgrade the flask, and then do a kamikaze run for the shortcut.

When you fight him: don't block (unless it's your last resort or you have a nice shield with high stability), it takes a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ of stamina. Since you're a thief you can dodge him and do some damage between his attacks since he is veeeery slow. The wiki doesnt point a particular weakeness against elemental damage, but his defense is greater for fire (comparing to other elemental def).

You should explore more before entering the church with the knight.

Okay, thanks for the help. My idea is mostly to trap him, get the flask upgrade, activate the Firelink shortcut, then return to try to kill him. Basically, to get and upgrade stuff, manage my invintory, for instance, collecting all my healing items near each other in the item order, THEN to finish the guy off when I take the path back. Sound like a good idea?

I got the red and blue shield from the Undead Parish area. I forgot what it was called, I've slept since then, but when you walk through the cumwall in the basement, when you're trying to get around the boar's gate, you take a right and backstab one of the guys with the brown capes. Well I killed him and took his red and blue shield, would that work? I'm not exactly keen on seeing if it would. Generally my plan with big dudes with clubs is to NOT use the shield, since it's usually useless and the extra damage with 2 handed is more useful in that situation.

The knight shield. I've never used it personally but I've seen players with it. It has 100% phy reduction which is nice and everything but depending on your stamina bar, one hit on the shield and it will certainly drain a huge chunk of stamina. Like you said, not very helpful against big dudes with clubs.

I agree, you should open the shortcut, rest, upgrade, etc etc and then try and kill him. Dodging and 2handed. It's good practice. Good luck!

Also: cumwall lol

Over the bridge, where the two archers are, there are 5 alluring skulls. Throw them from the bridge to the fire beneath and the armored boar will ram it, making a lot of damage. The boar will die after 3 rams!
The knight with the greatshield, that is guarding the firekeeper soul is really weak against fire. 5 or 6 firebombs will kill him easily, just need to dodge his plunge attack and throw your bomb. Try to lure him out of the church, because the caster up there will fire you his soul spears and make it difficult.

Okay, so trap him behind the gate, get the flask upgrade, open the shortcut, and level up ect. before takling him? Good call. Quick question. If I trap him behind the gate, do you think he would respawn where he usually is, next to the estus flask upgrade, or do you think he'd stay at the gate?

Clear the area with 3 hollows right before blacksmith, lure him there and circle around him blocking all the time. When he slams ground you can atack him.
