Can I kill Shiva's bodyguard in the Darkroot Garden, absolve my sins, join the Convenant again and then buy the Great Demon Machete from Shiva in Blighttown?

Proably but why don't you just wait until he's in Blighttown and buy what you want then take the ring?

I just want stuff as soon as possible :P

I also would like to know how soon can I get the Dragon Greatsword. If it's before getting to the Darkroot Garden then I don't need to worry about not killing Shiva anymore.

Are you new to the game? It seems like you are by the questions you're asking, which indicates guide reading. I suggest you look it up in the many wikis and you'll have all you questions answered. Or just give it enough time and someone here will type out pages and pages of information for you, which is apparently what you are looking for. I've beaten the game once before (2-3 years ago. Pirated, sadly), but only once, and never cared about getting items before I'm suppoused to get them. I looked in one of the Wikis and found most of the information I needed, saving those two questions I've asked here.

You could go ahead and kick the body guard off the cliff, save and quit, pick up ring, run out, then absolve sins.

If I do that, can I rejoin the covenant and then have Shiva as a merchant in Blighttown?

From the wiki:

If you make him hostile either by breaking the covenant or by attacking him without getting him killed (or you lose), he will relocate to Darkroot Garden and attack you on sight. If you absolve your sin and rejoin the Forest Hunter, he'll be back in Blighttown.
However, kicking the ninja bodyguard off the cliff, then reloading the game and looting the Dark Wood Grain Ring will still make him hostile and break the covenant, but he will not relocate to Blighttown, even after absolving your sin and rejoining the covenant.

As soon as you get to Blighttown... even at the beginning of the game if you have the master key and you know where to go.

Why do you even want the Dragon Greatsword so early in the game? You definitely don't have the Strength to wield it...

Yeah, I've been reading guides in order to know how to get an specific build as soon as possible. So? As I said, I beat the game already, so it's not like if I'm spoiling anything to myself, I'm just making an strategy.
