ESC Won't work for Menu?

I have no way to pause the game, open inventory etc etc... The game during the "tutorial" Tells me to press Escape for the menu, but nothing happens. Is there any way to fix this?

there is no pausing in this game as it turns out. To access the menue with the default controls I think it's either insert or delete to open it. Once you get tehre you can rebind a bunch of the commands.

Neither of those work, I have the game modified based off of the sticky thread with DSfix etc etc

I figured it out, the key was set to End instead of those. I now have it re binded to esc, thanks!

You're one of those guys who are responsible for the bloody stupid menu controls in DS 3, right?

@Nellvan not quite sure what you are talking about, seeing as I have just gotten this game not too long ago, and haven't even played DS2 or 3

Looking back at that post, yeah it doesn't make any sense. No idea what I was thinking.

The "weird" use of END for menu and INS, DEL, etc for stuff in the menu is often complained about. Even if that allows controlling all the menu with just the right hand.

And now in DS3 you still control the cursor with the arrow keys, but can't even use ENTER, you gotta use E and other keys on the far laft side.

That's just kinda funny to me, that the suposedly horrible keyboard controls were miles ahead (imo) of what they did later.

Ah I understand, I don't mind using 2 hands on the keyboard at times, I played Arma quite a lot and got used to quickly transitioning between the two as needed, I just never expected DS1 to have delete, end insert etc etc as a control. It kinda threw me off lol. I used to have a 360 controller but I let my little brother have it since I no longer needed it anymore, and I just haven't gotten around to buying a new controller yet. It was rather difficult to figure out the keys without the update that was posted on the sticky thread, (it was a lifesaver thank god) And I am really looking forward to (attempting) completing this game. My death counter is already at about 25 times in just an hour or so of play, about 15 of them were just from me trying to kill the guy right after you defeat the Asylum Demon lol. Not quite sure what I was thinking when I attacked him, but I soon found out that I have no idea how to kill him, and when I respawn he attacks me again lol... His snooty voice is rather annoying and I very quickly got tired of, "Oh, now that's embarrasing. How could you let me do that to you?"
