Drake Sword trick patched?

I remember doing it a long time ago, but when I'm trying again now, it's not seeming to work. Almost 200 arrow hits to the tail and still no sword.

Did they patch it?

No they didn't. Get rid of bow&arrow, make him come down on the bridge and cut his tail with a damn sword with resin on it. 2 or 3 hits and it should come off.

Still works for me, using just the starter arrows and bow from hunter class. Maybe 15 arrows.

Tried that; used resin and got 4 hits while 2-handing a broadsword, didn't work. No more resins left.

You were probably hitting the wrong spot then, it has always worked for me, with the longsword.

I did it in like 50ish arrows, make sure you have enough DEX for the bow(Usually the Long Bow or the Short Bow) in question. You may wield it anyway but won't deal damage.

Bow & Arrow still works. Be sure to hit the tail twice...once while he is perched, then again when he comes flying over and lands above you. Pretty easy to get the timing right after practice.

Some weapons aren't until Sens or Anor Londo, or really need the Gold Item Find ring to find effectively.

Make sure you upgrade the Drake Sword all the way. One of the best weapons in the game.

It really isn't. At all. It's a good starting weapon, but even before mid-game, it becomes crap.

Tried shooting the tail when he comes down; another 100 arrows and still nothing.

Is it because my dex isn't high enough? I did get that "you don't have adequate stats to properly wield this weapon" message when equipping the bow.

Yes, you need to be able to weild the bow properly, 2 handed. No red X.

That's right.

Also, if you don't want to invest any in Dex and have enough STR, Crossbows can work but it's ALOT tricker.

Yes it is, it's a fantastic weapon and the only weapon any player should use. It's an especially good weapon for PVP.

It took me like 20-40 arrows when I did it about a week ago, unupgraded shortbow and regular arrows.
